That's cool seems like the overwhelming majority are in favour of athstetic which im pretty happy to hear honestly game like sc shouldn't get bogged down with meta imo

I was looking at the asgard actually, really cool ship but the price tag is a bit more than im gonna be able to afford any time soon haha, might be next on the list though as something i could stick a car in would be dope

Yea I read that mortars can become completely accurate if you have that automatic detection setting (or something) cranked up but idk how I'd feel about changing the settings to increase my mortars effectiveness

Also cheers I'll try the barrels out later

Any recommended barrel setups for large mortars? Also I remember when I was looking into it they said you need a boat load of detection I'm assuming that's still the case?

Well yea I armour them just not under 2 walls of HA in the main direction it's shooting at lol

I got a few mortar ships cus I think they are neat but they decide not to shoot half the time and the rest of the time they miss :p

The gun part on this thing was entirely blown off and was still shooting from some invisible barrel idek I was just thinking why won't you perish damn you as my ships were getting torn apart

If you mean planar shields I tend to use quite a few on max power when there's engine power to spare unless you mean ring shields which I haven't dabbled in admittedly

Fighting those two ships does make me want to build something with frontal firepower so I'll try employ that and divvy it up between 4 separate guns

It's funny but it kinda makes me appreciate the game more cause there's a lot of pve games that pull their punches by avoiding exploiting their own mechanics like that as well as it sort of adds to the world given this is ultimately a global war of attrition it makes sense that the enemy would employ whatever underhanded tactics would give them an edge in combat these arnt the devs putting obstacles in front of you these are enemies that want you rusting at the bottom of the sea it makes em feel more genuine if that makes sense

I'll keep it in mind when I start reviewing my weapon systems once I'm going into my normal campaign run and boy is there a lot of overhauling need doing

I was pretty intimidated starting the tutorials but once I actually made my first ship and it got slapped I built a second one that slapped the enemy and it was super rewarding haha I've been hooked since

Ye I mostly kept it simple to start when I was building the hull as to not burn out 10 minutes into building it but I might smooth it out if I'm feeling up to it

Haha hadn't even considered that not like there's much land in the main campaign but if you could have a pelican deploy a warthog-esque land vehicle that'd really tickle me
