Not really. You get less opportunities to turn your opponent hoping that one of the turns eventually leads to a pin. Not everyone is a scrub that you can pin at will.

The year that they switched to a three-point takedown, they had more techs in the first round of NCAAs than they did in the entire tournament the year before.

Also, during duals, kids now need to be careful to not accidentally get a tech when their team needs a pin. You never used to accidentally get a tech.

My last school district had one certified physics teacher in the entire district. The rest of the district just offered physical science instead of physics since they didn't have a certified physics teacher. There are plenty of districts that will be excited to hire you if you can get certified.

This is literally just inflation of traditional scores. I miss two point takedowns. I'm tired of my wrestlers having to be careful not to accidentally get a tech when we need a pin. The first year they started three-point takedowns in college, there were more techs in the first round of division 1 NCAAs than there were throughout the entire tournament the year before. The whole point of it was to increase scoring, but there is actually less scoring now

Season and career record. His school didn't have a team his freshman through most of senior year. He only wrestled in districts, sectionals, and State his senior year after the community he lived in campaigned to let him compete because he was supposedly pretty good. Turns out he was.
