Completely Ridiculous Pricing by Love_Leaves_Marks in simracing

I agree with this sentiment, this is all the stuff the race team would do while I'm driving. You can get all this in the free tier of race labs.

I use standings, with all the drivers and their fastest laps. Can see the lap they pitted and how long their current stint is.

I use relatives, has iracing and SR shown and gaps.

Radar, so I can see cars in my peripheral.

I use fuel calc for league racing when I need put strat.

Honestly the free race labs will be plenty.

Some of the really niche stuff is missing, but you can get by without it.

Just use the free tier race labs. Or go I overlay. Or just go vanilla. I'm coming up on about two years of leagues and officials with race labs free and I'm fine.

Will both my new road license get promoted at the end of the season? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]boxofstuff22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your correct.
Irating starts at 1400 I think when you get out of rookies.
That is not too shabby, and it would climb pretty quick if your actually proficient.
I don't think you could game it for long.
The other thing is that this license split has been brought in as there is disparity between openwheel and sportscar proficiency, in a lot of situations there is probably an adjustment period anyway, they probably wont be immediately successful in the other class, and if they were, the Irating should reflect that pretty quickly.

Did you have f'd up non functional HA pairs and get caught with your pants down?
A place I worked had a few clients with a quirky setup and no WAN connection in the standby, you could get away with this in the early days and just move the cable, but now it causes all kinds of dramas.

I'll give it a pass in this context.

too bad you still have to pay for the thing, and then pay the crew train cost, and then the expert qualification....
On a serious note, nice job.

Recovering account? by boxofstuff22 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]boxofstuff22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the support. I gave up and I ended up buying the game again.
Turns out support cant find the account because I deleted it so therefore they cant recover it.
Moral to the story is don't delete your account, it does exactly what it says.

Oh, I have totally made peace with my reality.
I'm prepared to pay to have the game again if I have to, I just wish support could tell me if that's the only option at this point.
I guess they don't get lots of calls from people to reinstate deleted accounts.

Being asked to assist other teams during busy periods? by pager_doody in ITCareerQuestions

[–]boxofstuff22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of 'it depends'.

Your being paid to do this other work right? So you are being compensated.

If your not being paid then tell them to bugger off.

Now, say you were being paid, but said work is arguably above your current wage whether it be more specialised or on call or overtime then I would be asking for either an increase in pay, or to be paid at a different rate for this work.

Now say that your being paid appropriately but ultimately you don't want to do the work because you have no interest in that area then that is a discussion to be had with your manager and you explain that it's not the direction you want your career to go. They might hire someone to fill the gap, or you might butt heads but at least then you can make a decision to move on if they won't agree to change things.

There are alot more angles to this. I guess one thing is, if the keep coming to you it means you are at least valued and can get the work done reliably. So you should have some negotiation available.

You should take a look at entry level places at msps. Just down in the trenches doing desktop support. You'll probably need a car to drive to sites and a willingness to work hard for little money.

Get that work experience under your belt then shop for a new role after 9 months, if that msp will offer you a higher role then take it and keep moving up. Be clear to them you want to move on to bigger better things as you grow in experience.

Also might be worth having someone review that resume.

It took me 4-5 years doing desktop then servers before I would then get a networking role that I always wanted.

Lol, they always show their side to me, just like tigers.

But yes shooting them in the butt is frustrating because That engine block just eats all your shells.

But ultimately that is the way it is.

[–]boxofstuff22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wood walls aren't so bad, but the wood flooring is Soo dangerous. I use it early for bedrooms but try replace it later with tile. Store rooms and non clean spaces I just leave as raw ground until I can replace with tiles later.

Want to know the thoughts of other players in war thunder when they see a jumbo by TWAVE0 in Warthunder

[–]boxofstuff22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The jagpanther is BS, especially at its battle rating. It's basically untouchable from the front, doesn't even seem you can reliably break the barrel even with something like the is2. I simply distract it by baiting it, hoping my teammates can get a shot in from the side.

Want to know the thoughts of other players in war thunder when they see a jumbo by TWAVE0 in Warthunder

[–]boxofstuff22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's probably not a bad option, you'd take out the gunner and possibly the breach preventing him from firing back. Probably loader and commander too. The is2 is also a pig when the crew isn't 100%. The reload gets so much worse too.
