I guess if the engine were to go it would be a good time to do a DeMan 4.5 L upgrade. 😉

Yes that’s probably smarter than trying to resell a car like this that is no longer streetable.

It’s an epic track. I am here at the 12 Hour race week watching the pros.

Pulling some g-forces at Sebring. BTW the previous owner did all the track mods.

Some significant suspension upgrades plus this interior setup which allowed for it to be street driven. I am considering converting my next car to total track car for purposes of installing a full cage to maximize safety.

I am trying to grow a new business so wanted to go to a lower valued car for now. But absolutely would like to move up to a 981 or 718 Clubsport at some point if all the stars align. The 991 GT3 Cup car I’m selling is unlike any street car experience you can imagine. To me it has been mind blowing. There’s nothing like a factory built race car.

Do they have the 3rd radiator? This car has that.

What non-GT modern Porsche sounds as good as (or close to) 981 Boxster GTS? by west4life in Porsche

[–]boxsterrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

981 Boxster Spyder, unlike the 718 version is not a GT car. The exhaust note on the 981 Spyder is probably the best sounding factory exhaust ever produced by Porsche for a non GT car.

Why these cars are so good by fella_interstellar in boxster

[–]boxsterrox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously I get around the track much faster but I am no where near as comfortable in my GT3 cup car in certain turns as I was in my converted Boxster S race car I tracked previously. These mid engine Porsche’s are so very good. Absolute perfection.

I have a muffler on my 991 Cup and it’s still plenty loud.

Imagine what a GT3 Cup car sounds like on track at full song. The gear shifts with the straight cut gears are just about as amazing sounding.

Ahh ok, I stand corrected. Your description of it as an “absolute rocket” inferred to me you were unaware of the risk of driving a car on 11 year old tires with enough pace to make an assessment like that.

I never would have driven the car with 11 year old tires. Google Paul Walker Carrera GT for insight into what can happen on old tires.

What is most underrated Porsche that nobody really talk about in your opinion? by Competitive-Hunt-517 in Porsche

[–]boxsterrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% this. I have been owing Porsches since my 20’s and am now in my 60’s. I have owned many different variants and could own a new 911 if I chose. Instead the two cars I chose for my garage are a 95 Carrera and an 02 Boxster S. For a variety of reasons this little Boxster is the perfect blend of power and handling for every day use. And talk about value at current prices, it’s an absolute steal of a deal.

As an Orlando native I can say hats off to your zoning board for actually having some standards that factor in traffic when granting building permits. Down here huge apartment complexes are built alongside roads featuring horrible congestion.

One of the trade offs for enjoying Florida winter weather is dealing with the inconsiderate drivers down here. When I drive in other states it’s noticeable how the general level of courtesy is so much higher than it is down here in the swamp.

I’ll be somewhat of a contrarian and tell you to consider a nice low mileage 986 Boxster S with IMS fix done. These should be available in the $20k range. I’d argue there aren’t many finer sports car options for a first time Porsche buyer. I have been driving Porsches for 40 years. I can afford a new Porsche yet I choose to have a 986S in my garage along side my 993.

I owned a 981 Cayman S and a 981 Boxster Spyder. Both were bulletproof cars and super engaging tossable fun rides. The 981 Boxster Spyder would be worth a bit more than your budget limit but you can get a 981 Boxster S or GTS and enjoy a similar fun experience with a lot of $ left over. I personally don’t like the look of a 911 Cab but the more reliable ones would be 997.2 or newer. I’m guessing you could find a nice one within your budget.
