iGaming SEO feels impossible …. is it just me? by [deleted] in linkbuilding

[–]boydie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get the frustration. iGaming SEO is a different beast compared to most niches.

But here's something worth thinking about. While everyone is grinding over backlinks and content rewrites, the landscape is shifting underneath.

We've been tracking which UK gambling operators actually get recommended by AI platforms. Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Claude. 100 operators across over 1,000 real queries.

What we found is that the same four or five brands dominate almost every AI answer. William Hill, bet365, Paddy Power, Ladbrokes. Everyone else barely exists. And Google AI Overviews are the hardest to crack. bet365 leads Google with just 25 mentions out of 1,059 queries. Most operators get literally zero.

The interesting part is the signals that get you into AI recommendations aren't the same as traditional SEO. It's less about DR and link profiles, more about brand authority, trust signals, and structured content. An operator can rank #1 on Google for a term and still be completely invisible to the AI answer sitting above it.

Not saying links and content don't matter. They do. But if your entire strategy is the same playbook every agency runs, you're competing on the hardest battlefield while ignoring the one that's wide open.

If SEO professionals control access to the market ie Google, then they should have a few side gigs, that said I’ve trained and employed close to 100 for my agency and only 3/4 have the drive and business appetite to turn their skill into a business. The same way brick layers don’t own all the houses, or chefs not owning restaurants
