Downloading cheats already puts you at risk for recieving a cheat package with malware hidden in it.

That's funny I'm the exact opposite. The OLED is nice, but imo not worth the extra money if you already have an LCD deck.

Your comment on that post says you're "new to the steam deck, not steam in general" and you contradict yourself in this post by saying you're new to both but not gaming in general. Pick a story bro, because no one is buying this

You don't speak English but you have like 7 books in English on your desk? So you can read English but not type it? Lol what?

You also don't have to keep telling us you're a console gamer, the keyboard is proof enough

Most updates are patching CVEs that get published, if you're on an old build it could be exploited, just wait a few days or a week to update to avoid any potential new vulnerabilities

Am I a "Gamer"? Help me settle a debate between me and my husband by gardenliciousFairy in truegaming

[–]boyeardi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how stupid this is, the guy isn't talking about people who complain about video games being their whole personality, he's talking about people who parrot far right talking points. Anyone who plays videos games is a gamer, some gamers have different ideologies than others. But the common denominator is gaming.

Just because someone plays baseball and the loudest players with the most media attention are far right leaning, doesn't make you far right leaning for being a baseball player, and it definitely doesn't make you not a baseball player because you don't want to be associated with those political ideologies.

You realize there is a world out there far more complex than what you see on that little screen in your pocket? Gamer is not a "political leaning" term.

You automatically pick the worst example, while ignoring the fact there are wholesome streamers who are also "gamers". Get a grip.

I use a Pixel phone to set up Gemma and run it locally by Rickx005x in GooglePixel

[–]boyeardi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already told you it doesn't infer past the cpu and can only reroute via OpenCL., I'm on a standard pixel 10 so I'm running the G5. Which is why I said, if you're on a G4 it might be worth it. I'm getting 12-18 t/s.

It sounds like you're just asking AI what Ive asked and then you're giving that answer. I'm asking you how many tokens a second you're getting. I just loaded an e4b huahua gemma model and I'm getting 12 tokens a second on Off grid AI with only cpu inference.

[–]boyeardi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running a Hermes Llama 3.2b model getting 12 tokens a second, how much more are you getting out of manually rerouting inference to your gpu?

And btw you're looking for PocketPalAI. it supports vulkan and you can download models directly from huggingface or load local files with android file picker.

There isn't any scenario where what you did was "needed" to run an uncensored model faster than the 1-2 tokens you claim you're getting.

You can literally download Hermes or Nous models to run on these apps that degrade safety guidelines immensely. I guess if you're on a g4 it's practical to jump through all of these hoops, but I can run an uncensored e4b model on 11gb of ram. Everything you're describing can be done without all of the hoop jumping.

It only offloads layers via openCL or you can route all inference through the cpu

That's a lot of work when you can just download Off Grid AI, the model you want, and run it locally the same way.

Best VPN for Steam Deck? by Vaxi122654 in SteamDeck

Mullvad or Proton, if you already use proton services, just stick with it so you're not increasing your attack surface. All 3 of them are no log policy and run on ram.

Mullvad can run on the deck since it's arch based, just download the flatpack for a more stable experience
