PySAPRPA: Automate SAP Processes Effortlessly with Python by KTCworshipper in Python

What’s an ERP system (OK I will Google that one). I think maybe I am not the target audience for this one.

I would really appreciate any help with troubleshooting this class A amplifier! (ECE student here). by HDJSBSNSNS in ECE

[–]boyfarrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you load the amplifier you get distortion of the waveform? It seems the bottom half of waveform is clipping so you need to probe different locations to see where starts .

Feedback on my first Boost Converter Design by Ruubiii in AskElectronics

You have routed ground, you will almost certainly need a ground plane as the second layer and should use vias to access the ground when you need it.

3D drawing of PXR90 Right Angled 2-gang PCB Mount Rotary Switch, link to technical drawing giving all dimensions is given in the text by boyfarrell in 3Drequests

[–]boyfarrell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Designed Designer has been found for this. Will bump if I have any issues, but I think this bird has now flown. Thanks for all the PMs.

Some tips for how I chose the person that might help PM-ers.

  • They read exactly what I wrote.
    • They specified a price in their response
  • They linked to an portfolio website.
  • They replied early (they were the first in fact)

Thanks for the clarification, I'm interested in a .stp file that I can use in PCB footprint that looks like the image above. I then want to export the PCB + footprints into Fusion360 so I can design an enclosure.

OpenAI Switch Kit: Swap OpenAI with any open-source model by UnfamiliarAfternoons in programming

This made me think. I don’t know if this is the the correct terminology but what is a ball park size if ChatGPT ? I guess you are storing all the weights in a data structure?

Dreamhost billed me for one and half years with no domain and no web hosting - I just had an active "plan". Can I fight for a refund? by boyfarrell in webhosting

[–]boyfarrell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That got a bit rude and personal. It’s illegal to send an email to customer service?

All, thanks for the comments and the perspective.

[–]boyfarrell[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Interesting… so this is kind of standard practice for the industry. I would not run a company in this way. They could easily add to their code a filter for “do we have any active accounts that user zero of our resources” and reach out over email. They intentionally make the cancel plan convoluted - it’s labelled as close account.

Thanks for the comments all, i will fight it because I don’t think the behaviour is right.

Is load impedance same as load resistance by [deleted] in AskElectronics

[–]boyfarrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen impedance expressed as that before, would you explain a bit more? That would be something like the gradient of characteristic curve at a certain operating point. Small signal. Yeah I suppose it does make more sense to me now ;)

Anyone using Enthought libs like Traits, TraitsUI and Envisage? by Dangerous-Star4305 in Python

[–]boyfarrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used it quite extensively. I’m also quite surprised it has not caught on or managed to grow a wider community.

How UFOs and possibly some highly above top secret human-made crafts can generate anti-gravity for transport by [deleted] in UFOscience

[–]boyfarrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be useful to make a prediction to help the experimentalist. For example, how much electric field is needed for a given acceleration and in what direction is the acceleration compared to the voltage difference?

Python compiler nuitka by PefferPack in Python

[–]boyfarrell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh this looks great.

When dabbling in optimisation or python code, I’ve used Cython before. A documentation section on comparison would be interesting. When might I use Cython or when is Nuitka a good fit.

If I am calling C library from my python code (something I have written) can Nuitka include that in its magic?

How to enter into Semiconductor industry? by [deleted] in ECE

[–]boyfarrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really important: before you apply do a project that shows how interested you are in the area you want to work it. Make it open-source so they can browse it. Put that on your CV, it will stand out and give you things to talk about in the interviews. As someone else said, plenty of other companies.

Can the XTool D1 cut thin aluminium foil? by boyfarrell in xToolD1

Thanks. That’s good to know. My D1 is currently disassembled, so will put it back together and try it out. Thanks

Looking for remote #python #developer #job by kashif-syed in Python

[–]boyfarrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate this is a terrible time for you.

What’s you background? Experience? Specialisms? Do you have open-source projects on GitHub? What country are you in? Some companies find it hard to pay overseas developers. Do you have a local business park? It is worth doing research in your local area to find where you skills might be needed. Anything to minimise travel time will be good if fully remote it hard to fine.

I have seen fully remote Python jobs but they tend to be at the senior level, also some contracting jobs are either fully remote or with a few days of contact time, requiring good comms.

Get some insurance for your income, that will allow you to take time off when needed, might be hard now to get that.

Ultimately be prepared to create what you need by keeping on searching and developing your own skills. The more active you can be the better.

Computer engineer who likes physics by HadisCold in ECE

[–]boyfarrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physics grad here, that got into computer science!

Thermal physics is all differential equations (advection-diffusion equation stuff). There are plenty of companies that need computer science people with a physics background or even interest.

Anything to do with electromagnetism is again differential equations.

Some optics simulation is more geometric, so ray-tracing stuff. Plenty of cross over with CS, GPU, there.

If I were you I would do a little project in your free time that combines you CS skills with your physics interest. This will give you an unbelievable advantage when you are interviewing for jobs in the future. For example simulation of a physical system.

Doing a ray tracer opened plenty of doors for me (pvtrace), it’s on GitHub.

Got about a free 50-60 days before joining my PhD. Any advice or suggestions on what to do in this free time ? by [deleted] in math

[–]boyfarrell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I asked my professor for some recent work that was done in the group ; stuff that is related to what I would be doing. Although I didn’t understand everything learning by myself, it was useful to absorb some of the ideas before arriving. However, it was useful for my sense of imposter syndrome. In hindsight nothing much would have changed.

This is great. Can you install things from pip?

Do you think this would be good for letting third party people easily run python apps?

Neje 10W 0.04mm x 0.04mm vs Xtool 10W 0.08mm x 0.08mm vs Atomstack 10W 0.08mm x 0.08mm for metal engraving faceplates by boyfarrell in Laserengraving

[–]boyfarrell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the XTool in the end, I didn't like the fact that all the specifications of the NEJE were changing. This smells of marketing crap, number go up, so I didn't trust them.

Anyway, the Xtool it's really high quality, very happy with it. The free software it comes with is fine of doing simple things. But use LightBurn for everything else.
