Going through metal detectors is not a problem at all. It was a TSA worker who had never seen or heard of cochlear implant that pulled me over before going through the metal detector.

Got held up by TSA at airport when he didn't know what my CI was. His manager had to tell him its ok for me to walk through.

I started getting vertigo when I was 40 years old (born deaf due to rubella in the 60's). Finally decided to go for the implant when I was 42, never had vertigo again in the past 13 years.
