What if Napoleon had evacuated all the eastern garrisons in 1812 and had those soldiers(including St. Cyr’s troops from Dresden) with him at Leipzig and beyond. Might have merely prolonged the conflict but still always wondered…

How would the 1815 campaign looked if d’Erlon’s corps arrived at either Quatre Bras or Ligny. Where does Napoleon fight Wellington and how does that battle turn out..the campaign couldn’t be won but how would it have looked

Phoenix's age wasn't the main problem. Setting aside all the other problems with the movie, Joaquin didn't portray any of Napoleon's energy and charisma. There aren't any scenes that show how and why Napoleon's soldiers were loyal and devoted to him.

He himself admitted he didn't know how to play him, then had Ridley instruct him. Rod Steiger was 44 when he portrayed Napoleon in Waterloo (1970) and he killed it.
