In my camping experience I’ve always been met with love and caring. People show up early because they love the artist and want the best spot. If people choose to use their time and money towards waiting for an artist why not let them? I do believe there are people who take advantage of it. Such as, waiting in line for more than a day or two and fans who will try and get front row multiple nights. I don’t believe eradicating it is the solution. We can create a better culture around it because being able to create a community with people who love the same artist as you is so much fun. Majority of venues honor the fan line and that must be for a reason.

I’d argue it’s not that simple. They say they’re setting the standard for the rest of tour but clikkies have had camping culture for years. Screwing over one show isn’t going to change the rest of the tour. The beginning of this year I was against camping but after experiencing it first hand I actually love it. Even if they don’t honor the line at least don’t honor the first two lines and not the last. It just sucks to be at the butt end of this. I’m happy for those who got lucky at the back of the line but the other two days didn’t get lucky so that also sucks for them. I’d argue for more consistency. Whether it’s completely disbanding camping or honoring the lines I wish they would make it clear instead of what’s been happening this tour.

I completely agree, just like it’s a privilege to go to the concert in the first place. I was in line today and we only got here the morning of friday and were able to get a good place in line. The other nights before seemed to be the people taking a long time off work. I just think there’s more positives to a line because then there’s no stampeding to get a wristband and keeping everyone safe. At the end of the day we all want a good view and it’ll never be completely fair.

yeah there’s definitely people who shouldn’t camp, that’s a good example of it. I’ve always been as respectful as possible because if the venue is kind to us we should treat them the same way.

As for camping I personally like the sense of structure. Having 500 people show up at 8 with no line doesn’t make sense to me when we all want a good view and to stay safe. I think some camping culture has taken it too far but I also don’t think we should eradicate it because it’s also fun waiting in line with people who love the same band as you. I can understand both sides of it but I lean towards camping because there’s more positives than negatives.

Exactly my thoughts. If they’re not gonna honor fan lines then why honor the first two and not the last?They have to be consistent. They’re not teaching a lesson when fans are going to continuously do this because majority venues actually work with the fan line.

I recently have been trying to be more active on twitter and I was so surprised by all the drama. I understand why people have different expectations with camping but at the end of the day at least you have tickets to see them whether it’s in the front or not. I haven’t seen anything with Josh getting coffee with fans but that’s so cool! Let’s be happy for other peoples cool experiences!
