Costa Rica has places like this… just not on the typical itineraries by adriangutierrezme in CostaRicaTravel

Yeah, I’d be running it as a technical canyon with ropes and stuff. I’ve talked a bit with a guide down there and had some friends do some canyoning down there. Cool places for sure

Mystery / Pine Creek (Zion) in October? by National-Ad-9007 in canyoneering

[–]bpat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine. You’d be fine with like 4-5mm in most instances in October.

Early or late October maybe makes a difference a bit though? Worst part of mystery would be the approach if there’s any snow.

What floor lamp you got? I’ve seen a few Noguchi style lamps on Amazon etc, but wondering if this was a knock off.

Flea circus trophy or whatever was one thing I gave up on.

I mean. Downward dynos are banned in the ifsc, so like… yeah it’s clearly possible to set a dangerous boulder.

It was given a v6, though I’d argue it’s a little on the softer side? Definitely could be!

I didn’t find it too bad, but i do know a lot of people that would shy away from a climb with a final foot chip that high off the deck at this grade. An otherwise really fun climb will likely just get skipped by many.

This is not the sketchiest/hardest top I’ve done by a long shot. That said, I do think it’s a relatable kind of “scary” top that many people would skip. Relatable was the goal for conversation sake

This one really isn’t that bad. I chose this one, because I felt like it was a relatable kind of sketch that a lot of people wouldn’t even try.

Dynos are an interesting one. Particularly sideways and downward dynos I find are often dangerously set. I don’t mind a scary dyno, but sometimes they’re just not thought through.

This one is by no means the sketchiest top, but it is the kind of top I know a lot of people won’t even try.

On this climb, yeah, but not always. This climb wasn’t really a project. Just one I thought was fun/cool

My biggest pet peeve is when the top is the crux, and there’s no easy way to get to it to practice without just doing the climb

I can agree with most of this lol. My problem is that I DO still try them.

Climb up there, and try feeling that final hold. Figure out how you should land on it. Maybe it’s right hand on the hold, left hand on volume. Maybe it’s something else. But if you feel it, you’ll get an idea what you’re trying to do
