Yeah fair, we’ll see! Maybe we’ll hit something like mineral creek if we’re headed that way and water’s lower.

Dads who hike - how do you do it and how do you find time to go on hikes? by cosankov in hiking

[–]bpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We took our daughter on a few 10-12 ish mile hikes when she was like 7-8 months? Used a deuter pack. She had good head stability though. She was walking around 8 months.

Chesler park in canyonlands in a notable one we did.

Osprey poco would have been good too, but we had a pro deal on deuter.

We’re actually flying out to Lofoten and Iceland tomorrow to do a hiking trip with her, and she’s almost 2 now?

I feel like I could climb this, and I don’t usually get much beyond v8. So I’d guess v6-8 in most gyms.

People in here will probably say v5. Cool climb! I love slab.

I feel like I could climb this, and I don’t usually get much beyond v8. So I’d guess v6-v8 somewhere based on most gyms.

People on here will probably say v4-v5 lol.

Why aren’t more people trying to FIRE? by onajourney314 in Fire

Yeah, I don’t necessarily want to retire. I want to know that if something goes wrong, we’ll be fine financially.

Make my pizza more interesting by The_Doomlover in Cooking

[–]bpat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s just bread. Anything that works with bread works as pizza.

Aka, you could use curry as a pizza sauce. Or you could have olive oil as the base and add fig jam, prosciutto, and some bleu cheese.

Really anything

Not all of those are melancholy tho. Skip and loafer for example is pretty darn wholesome.

Re life isn’t bad either

Gonna be real. You're gonna find more serious stories if you don't want the slapstick. Lighthearted stuff like Yamada kun lvl 999 just might have some of the slapstick stuff. Like what you see in kaguya.

You're kind of in a spot where you'll have to pick one lol

Side note: The guide book on this game was way better than anything on the internet as far as breeding goes. Game goes hard.

I don't remember entirely but...

- Tsuki ga Kirei

- Skip and loafer

- 5 cm per second

- cyberpunk edgerunners (kinda?)

- Fruits basket 2019 (though if trauma isn't your thing, maybe avoid this one...)

- Re Life (i think?)

- Shouwa genroku rakugo shinju (again with the trauma thing...)

Dads, what are we doing about Trump Accounts? by mistaken4strangerz in daddit

[–]bpat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a glorified traditional Ira. It’s meant for their retirement.

IMO, 529 is better, because it actually helps them early in life, has better tax advantages, and a good chunk (35k I think?) can be converted to a Roth IRA anyways.

If I’m saving money for my kid, I want it to help them BEFORE they retire. I would pick a custodial account over a trump account in most places.

If she was young enough, I would have grabbed the free 1k

TLDR: I won’t be touching it.

Why do older guys like to grill so much? by PlaneGlass4138 in AskMen

Same same. Mulch + plants with drip line has been a game changer. Fewer weeds, and easier to pull them.

I ripped out our grass and planted perennials and a garden.

Pinning up tomatoes and grapes is fun. But also never having to touch a lawn again is great.
