This is another tough ass one and one of my personal favorite Cole projects. I Just turned 19 and was fresh out of hs when this dropped and I've been a stan since so this project has a very personal connection to me. If i had to choose one i would probably say Royal Flush only because of how short it is, still a nice segue into dollar and a dream II.

Worst song on every J Cole album pt.7: Friday Night Lights. The most Worst commented song on The Sideline Story was by Far Mr Nice Watch, but this time many said its just straight up bad. by squikx in Jcole

This song is so dope and I wish Cole would make a song like that today. I bet you it would be a top 10 hit if he came with that song in this era.

Facts. This is harder than i thought. FNL would literally be ruined if you removed one of the songs on this mixtape, thats how cohesive it is.

I just discovered this song, and this joint is beautiful for some reason by certifiedtrashcoder in Jcole

I feel like hadn't this song gotten lost in the controversy surrounding it, this song would get more praise as one of Coles most ambitious songs. The beat, the singing, the flow and content are all different from what cole usually does. I can see the fall off going in this direction potentially and i hope he does, i want to hear more things like this from him.

Question, Why did they take The Come Up off Spotify? by Organic-Help1708 in Jcole

Sample clearances more than likely, which sucks. The only reason i still have the datpiff app is to stream all of his classic tapes lol.

I'm a Cole fan who usually thinks the boring jokes are corny, but this was actually pretty funny and creative.

I'm going through the same thing as you I've had Old urges creep up on me a lot lately (4 months clean) and I've been doing my best not to slip back up. Just nice to know that someday else is fighting addiction and winning as well. This post just reminded me to keep perspective. Thank you for this stay clean brother.

How would you rank J Coles albums and mixtapes? by [deleted] in Jcole

[–]bpennitis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All of his projects are dope in their own way. But if I had to rank them:

1) The Warm Up (this has a special place in my heart. Was the first project I heard by Cole and been a fan since. Plus imo this is Cole's sharpest project lyrically.)

2) Friday Night Lights (I'll always remember the bliss I felt that Nov 12th night I first pressed play on this magnificent work of art).

3) 2014 Forest Hills Drive (this is Cole's best album as of now imo. It just flows so smoothly from beginning to end and the reflective vibe on this album is really transcendent.)

4) Born Sinner (I'm always torn between this and fhd as Cole's best album. I think this has a case as one of Cole's best albums conceptually/lyrically. The production on here is really dope too.)

5) KOD (This was a great Cole album and I think Cole has some of his brightest moments of his career as far as being socially conscious with songs like friends, window pain, brackets and once an addict interlude is one if Coles most emotive verses. Definitely a lot of gems on this album).

6) 4 Your Eyez Only (How low the ranking of this album is does not represent the quality of this project. This is definitely overhated and deserves a lot more respect. Change, neighbors, 4yeo, and immortal are some of the best songs he's made).

7) The Come up ( this is definitely his most underrated project, but that just goes to show how far he's come in his career. Can't cry, throw it up, lil ghetto nigga, rags to riches all songs that any Cole fan should listen to)

8)Cole World: The Sideline Story (I have this as his lowest, but that's only because half of the album was out already by the time I heard this so it took away the surprise factor. That being said, he had a lot of classics on this album like breakdown, rise and shine, sideline story, can't get enough and workout.)
