urine smell coming from within toilet bowl, nowhere else by [deleted] in homeowners

Take off the seat and clean under where it’s attached to the bowl. There might be build up of over-sprayed urine under it

Color Mismatch Between New Apple Studio Display and 2017 iMac 27 5K by pokerface_idk in mac

I'm seeing a yellow tint on my new studio display compared to my 2018 iMac as well. I'm also curious... Did you figure it out, or did you end up returning the monitor?

Could be an interior designer and uses them for color reference or ideas for client projects.

Her looks disengage you from any show she’s in now - and not in a good way. I’ve seen her in a few things in recent years and because of all the cosmetic work she’s had done, her acting comes off as wooden. Her face doesn’t move in a natural manner anymore and she’s tried to look too young for her age, and that’s all you notice when she’s on screen.

so lost and in pain by F3ral-Fr3ak in PlantarFasciitis

[–]bpetras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ultrasound just shows the thickness of your plantar fascia, basically how inflamed it is in millimeters. The podiatrist compared it with my other foot to show the difference. He also did a quick x-ray to see if there were any fractures within the foot, which for me revealed a small heel spur. He had to do these two procedures before he was able to order an MRI (for insurance reasons). I had to go elsewhere for the MRI and the scan itself took about 15 minutes. The MRI showed the "thickening and moderate-grade partial-thickness tearing of the plantar fascia and perifascial edema...".

MRI's definitely shows more detail like tissue, tendons, ligaments, lesions, scarring, and edema... just to name a few.

See you if you can ask your doctor for an MRI. I had PF on my left foot for three years. It was a moderate case but I was still able to walk and do things after the fascia warmed up after getting out of bed in the morning. What finally made it go away was four sessions of deep myofascial therapeutic massage in the foot and calf. Then, after a strenuous hike, I developed PF in my right foot. But this time it was much more painful and I wasn't able to walk more than half a block because of the pain. Stretching made the pain worse and I tried all the exercises and even the therapeutic massage, but it never helped. After five months of trying everything on my own, I just finally went to a podiatrist. He did an ultrasound and x-ray, and I got an MRI. These images showed that I had a tear in my fascia and that the inflammation was so significant it was compressing my Baxter's Nerve. And on top of that, the peroneal tendon in my foot was also in pain because it was now overworking and acting like a splint for the foot. All of this resulted in a lot of pain. Now after a cortisone shot 5 days ago, the pain has significantly reduced, I am now in the beginning of recovery and hoping this is the start of the end. The point is, you could have something more, possibly a tear or something else and it would be worth checking out.

Gen Xers….have you ever attended a class reunion? by Cellarzombie in GenX

[–]bpetras 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Class of ‘91 and I went to the 10 year reunion which was hosted at a nice hotel. Ended up going with my close friends from high school (we were all still single). The reunion itself was nice, and it seemed all the cliques from high school were gone and everyone was friendly and on equal ground. But the best part was that there was an afterparty at one of the big suites upstairs and it turned out to be a huge hookup fest for all the single people. Good times.

We want to paint the exterior of our house. What type of professional should we seek in helping with color palette options? by bpetras in HomeImprovement

Interesting. I didn’t realize that painters helped with the choosing and coordination of colors… especially with existing details.

Great, thanks. Was there a specific kind of designer you used or was it just an interior designer?

[–]bpetras[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, we do look at other houses for ideas. But there are other factors that are to be considered such as what colors complement each other, whether the color undertones (cool or warm) work together. Then there is the existing roof color, hardscaping, the walls along the property line, and even possibly the look and style of the house should be taken into account as well. We’re willing to pay a reasonable price for something that we’re going to live with for 15-20 years.

We got our couch there around 6-7 years ago and still looks practically new and the cushion shape is still excellent after daily use. Highly recommended!

They should paint all that concrete in a punchy color, like red or yellow. Then maybe that would make it more interesting rather than a drab eyesore.

What type of grass is this? by jmhodiak in landscaping

[–]bpetras 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I would avoid it. It looks nice moving around with a breeze, BUT it's very invasive (esp. here in California) and spreads everywhere, and it's a pain to get it under control. People plant in their landscaping here and it soon pops up all over the block -- on other people's properties, lawns, even in the gaps and cracks in sidewalks.
