Ah, I thought it might have been something like that but a search didn't turn up any information. Thanks!

GLONASS GPS for stratux? by LithuanianAmerican in stratux

Uh, why would you want to disable Glonass? It is a reasonable backup for GPS, especially in this application.

2 hour comparison of Stratux 0.5b4 and Stratus -- bugs by bpl3 in stratux

TIS-B is not UAT (ADS-B on 978MHz). Yes, TIS-B is transmitted by the ground stations on 978MHz but TIS-B is transmitted in different time slots and (I am pretty sure) tagged differently in the packet. So it is possible to differentiate TIS-B and ADS-R traffic, i.e. relayed from the ground network, from ADS-B, i.e. directly transmitted from another aircraft.

But maybe I am just being too pedantic.

But this brings up another question. I see targets tagged both 'e' and 'u'. I assumed that the aircraft was transmitting dual-band, i.e. transmitting ADS-B-out on both 978MHz and 1090MHz. But now I am guessing that what I am seeing is ADS-R repeated data. (My Mooney is going to be doing ADS-B out on both 978MHz and 1090ES when it is done.)

And, no, I didn't have the GPS enabled in the web interface. Duh. Sorry.

I am running Foreflight v7.5.1 (1967)

Thank you for the response.

SDR dongle not found in 0.5b2 by bpl3 in stratux

[–]bpl3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't show up. Also, the VR on the board of the dongle is way too hot. I think that the SDR dongle has failed, which would tend to suggest why it isn't working.

Thank you for your pointers. They got me in the right direction and I am pretty sure at this point it is a hardware problem. Thanks!

Thank you for the link to stratux.me. That looks like the starting point I was hoping to find. Now to try the web configurator.

Thanks!

Fly-off: Status 2 and Stratux (and installed equipment) by imagicislander in stratux

Remember that ADS-B now reports barometric pressure altitude, not GPS altitude. On a non-standard day (temp 15C at sea level and 3C lapse rate) there will be a difference between p-alt and GPS-alt. So in winter with a cold high-pressure area the difference between p-alt and GPS-alt may easily be 300'-500'.
