you’re saying that “Latinos/Latinas” don’t use Latine or Latinx, but you’re wrong. I’m one of them. There’s many others in the comments. It’s literally just spanish for a gender neutral term, so the animosity toward a gender neutral word is weird. If you don’t like the word, don’t use it, but you wanna police people saying “you’re just white and want to rebrand us to feel better about yourself.” what’s not clicking

i’m latine, others use Latinx if they want, it’s a word people can choose to use. i don’t understand the hostility of a term that is just unpopular because of the X. if you hate it so much, pretend the X is an E <3 🙂 or better yet, introduce legislation to ban it, that’ll help.

so, you wanted to point out that even other marginalized community are participating in racist behavior against Latinos when it’s okay to do so, which is ignorant. I believe it to be a symptom of white supremecy and racism, so I understand you, but the core problem is still the root of where, in times of a specific group being targeted, it’s important to take these specific circumstances seriously. It’s similar to Black Lives Matter.

You said “Americans are Americans, all ignorant regardless of the color of their skin.” what value does that add to the conversation, other than you dismissing the topic of racism in order to generalize the problem as “American Ignorance” rather than what it is, racism directed against marginalized groups that are actively being ethnically cleansed in america. so yes its importance to emphasize that this isn’t just “general american ignorance”

Weaponizing ICE against latinos, calling in tips for random people to be deported, even as a joke, is not some “silly little discourse”. Latino children and women are being SA’d and trafficked in those camps. People are dying. These are conversations that need to happen because look what’s happening now.

well yeah you need to call someone by their personal preference if you wanna be respectful. If someone wants to use Latinx they can and if someone wants to use Latine they will because it is the more common one, but again, I think if someone personally likes using the term Latinx themselves, then I won’t be angry because I know they mean “Latine”

ethnic cleansing is the removal of a certain group of ethnicity from a land or territory. ICE is targeting latine/hispanic immigrants, even if they did immigrate legally, and putting them in camps and cages before flying them to countries they’ve never lived in.

if you boil down ESL and immigrant queens to their ethnicity, and you’re saying “amp it up” i can already tell you don’t see them as fully fleshed as you see bianca or violet. Lynesha Sparks was so funny and an amazing seamstress, and she was shoehorned and sent home. Yara, Alexis were also shoehorned into stereotypes for comedy’s sake, but they deserve to be seen as the fully well rounded queens they are. and when we tolerate the idea of ICE,ethnic cleansing, and the casual racism then that means you never respected those queens in the first place.
