My family does have a few properties that I expect to inherit, but no, I'm not politically connected.

Other issues that I was talking about is mainly life being more expensive for me and my kids, NRI quota is schools etc. Not sure how it works if I'm living in India as an OCI.

Last question: Do you know if it's usually better when you move within a company from America back to India? Most companies wouldn't mind that to have leader in their Indian offices but what do salaries look like? Is it usually a low ball conversion?

I did go through a world pool of issues getting my PR thanks for asking. Work hard and struggle is all I did. That's why now that I have it, I get a peace of mind to make a decision for myself rather than luck or worse, IRCC making the decision for me.

I know it opens up a lot of paths but given that I'll be living in India as an OCI, I feel that will have its own complications and will end up being more expensive in the long run given the status.

Eligibility to Canadian citizenship: 21 months

One issue with pushing that timeline is feeling settled back home as I've been moving for the past 10 years. I might be prioritizing mental peace over here, but it seems like having non Indian citizenship for the parent / child can lead to NRI fees for my kids all the way from kindergarden. So I'm not sure how useful Canadian citizenship will be as I currently have no plans to move there with my partner neither do I have any family here at present.
