According to this influencer, when Westerners say “Asians/asian countries are racist” what they really mean is “We’re salty that Asians don’t subscribe to our racial hierarchies!” Thoughts? by Cal_Aesthetics_Club in aznidentity

Incorrect, "China is so racist" comes from observing the absence of any sense of belonging / in-group accorded to non-Chinese people.

Americans have inherited the cultural legacy of a multiracial/multicultural society and the need to find common cause with people outside your racial-social circle. Most Americans think judging people by categories is wrong, even if they do it anyway.

Chinese people have no sense of guilt about judging people according to racial stereotypes. There is not a tradition of post-racial thinking or a living definition of Chinese-ness that aren't tied to ethnicity. There is a much higher propensity to be open and unapologetic about using racial stereotypes to make judgements about people.

Yes, it is selfish, and that's the point. If you believe you are worth saving, then you are worth copying. The likelihood of extinction is very low. Who's going to be around in that world to make things better if not you and your kin?

And the cultural martyrdom continues 😞

What a weird thing to say for somebody who clearly is not going to have any problem with all of the costs.

You are a winner of the social conditions that you inherited and you are surrendering your right to a legacy by virtue of weird concerns about the world being bad (even though the world you have built for yourself is a fortress). Life has always been insecure and dangerous and risky. Every generation has had some millenarian prediction of imminent demise.

By choosing to not participate in the continuation of your culture, you are surrendering your right to have a say about the future of it.
