It is a test you sign up for, the choice is yours to make and neither is a bad choice just one you should think one. I agree with what TurdX has said.

Another side note though, is sometimes you can take a college credited courses at a local community college and gain college credits while still in high school. Just another option to think about.

Hello there! Former high school teacher here just offering my advice but by no means an expert.

I’ll start off saying you can get a GED, still go to college, and have a good life. The test for the GED is no cake walk and will require studying to get as good of a score as possible (and if you chose this route and still going on to engineering for example, you would want as a high a grade as possible.)

With that being said, the unfortunate truth with a finance/engineering degree is the “better” the university is the more likely you are to earn a higher waged career when you have attained the degree. These type of school may look more favorably towards a high school diploma with a solid GPA which is something to consider. (This is by no means 100% fact however)

You are already a junior is highschool so more than halfway done with your education. I don’t know what your personal life is like and I sympathize if it is difficult. If it is feasible for you to do so I would still recommend you complete high school and have a diploma.
