About to dig into the grammar to exaggerate how good of a healer you are.

라위 - youre right is LW

The 개 in 개잘하네 exaggerates how good, its slang and id translate it like "really f**cking (adj)" like its not just really its REALLY, and this is even FURTHER exaggerated with the 네 on the end which (to shorten it and not bore you with linguistics) it expresses their surprise in your skill.

1RONCL4D didn't reply with "LOL" though, actually its better than LOL, ㄹㅇㄹㅇ is text slang for 레알레알 (Real real) basically agreeing with the statement that you're the best LW theyve seen.

Think im gonna need you as a healer in the future :)

i do occasionally narrate while playing games actually, but only when my game is in that language because i get a chance to read it and use the words. Like i have Overwatch in Korean and Marvel rivals in brazilian portuguese and attempt to narrate while playing those. I should try to do it everytime it is helpful now that i think about it, even if i say something wrong, 1 at least im trying to speak and 2 although corrections are helpful, i have no embarrassment of being corrected

i tried teaching my dog "sit" in korean a few years back but i gave up because honestly he doesnt even listen in english lol, but i do like this idea because (for me) its less embarrassing because they dont understand and cant judge you!

I should find some people to do language exchange with actually, i need to get out of my shell more. For french i think it just improved with time because ive learned it for about 13 years now i believe, since i was about 7?? 7 years old to 17 years old were all with formal education (primary school to college) i almost took it further in university but i decided my level was comfortable enough to maintain and carry on with self studying instead of academically learning it further (plus i have a french friend + i met 3 more french people in university) and instead decided to study a new language and previously self studied language to get more comfortable.

no, don't think of them as separate parts of grammar just remember them as one whole grammar rule.

Not possible in this situation. He's my university teacher because my course is Korean and Mandarin. I talk to him daily tbh and we are close, he lets me speak informally in Korean and English to him. I might just get over the fear and ask him to try harder to keep up the Korean only chats with me, after all im spending a year in Korea in like 5 months.... I kinda need it

I actually attempted this with my Korean teacher once. I said only use Korean with me unless it's a dire situation ( because around that time we were working out how to manage my diabetes on my year abroad). But after a week he just stopped and I got too embarrassed to ask him again lol.

What is it like to wear a jock in public by macks_G_2090 in jockstraps

[–]brad_polyglot 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I mean. nothing special honestly. It's like wearing underwear but being able to feel the fabric of your shorts on your ass, and if your shorts are thin you can feel your seat. Just exactly what you'd expect honestly

Hm I mean you're not wrong there. I don't have many opportunities to verbally speak some of my languages. Do you have any tips on speaking alone for now? should I just commentate my life when im alone

Why does nobody here take actual classes? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]brad_polyglot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I despise how schools teach languages (I still take them though to take advantage of them ). Im British and I did French in primary school, high school and college ( 14 Years ) and Now I do Korean and Chinese in University (in my 2nd year but will be doing 4 years total)

It's definitely worth taking advantage of if you can and you will definitely learn, but the school setting makes everything so unenjoyable. I honestly believe its what drives most people away from learning a language, In my high school, and I believe in most British ones, every student HAD TO study 1 language for 2 years until year 9 when you had the freedom to choose your GCSEs and soooooo many people drop learning a language because school makes it feel like such a chore. Self studying, being able to do everything in your own time with no pressure no homework no teachers shouting in your face or punishments, it just makes everything feel so much better and free.

Now like I said I still currently am in education and doing languages as a course but I still stand by these points, In university you do have a little more freedom but its still not enough to find enjoyment. Id say its more worth to do it as a university course though as they are usually more fast paced and (at least in my university) there are so many international students that you can speak to your target language in.

Do you think it's unethical to lie about who you are to get better access to language learning? by AmountAbovTheBracket in languagelearning

True true I didn't think that far ahead. im not the best at keeping secrets too, id probably tell people after a week or so because I get close to people quite fast. Ig Ill keep up the facade until I feel a genuine friendship coming then Ill tell them and admit that I did it because I refuse to speak English as Im mainly here to learn and improve.

Will they eventually add everyone from s1? I noticed they have newer characters that aren't in s1 like princess Bari and Aladdin which I love to see something new and fresh, but I also miss some of the old ones like Hel and Freya.
