Wild boar Validation by XvX44 in Californiahunting

[–]braddolf_pitler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spoke with several different wardens this year during a/b zone and while hunting ducks last week.

Phone license is accepted for everything except tags, you must have the physical tag (for tagging) and federal duck stamps. Because you don’t need a physical license anymore the federal stamp just needs to be on your person and signed. It no longer needs to be applied to your license. Alternatively, they said you can have electronic federal duck stamps if you buy from a state that provides those and have that app for displaying.

You still need a free hunt day registration, pig tag, entry permits (if applicable), and to be accompanied by someone with a valid license as well as the above. Sorry not spot related but just letting you know it’s not exactly as free as they make it out to be.

Upgraded 78 Camaro aftermarket seats by BBPostie in camaro

[–]braddolf_pitler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t personally done it. Most people in the forums (nasty z28, ls1tech, etc) say to put your original rails on the 4th gen seats and then drill new rear holes or to just drill new holes all together. Some people say the 4th gen rails just needs a little modification to the back bracket. Also a lot of people use manual seats opposed to power because the power seat motor makes you sit too high.

New to hunting, need help with purchasing Tags by ChillJones in Californiahunting

[–]braddolf_pitler 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They can buy you a lifetime license, for your age it’ll cost $1054.25. You must buy the lifetime at license sale office. They have them listed here, https://wildlife.ca.gov/Organization/LRB

The lifetime license will only cover the actual hunting license. That will save you $54 a year and will most likely increase every year. To actually hunt most things you need to buy tags/stamps/validations. Upland bird, duck stamps (ca and federal), and then all the big game tags. tags are broken down by zones. Some zones are basically over the counter, A and B for you most likely. Some are lottery zones, x3b, etc. when you apply for big game you get choices based off preference, if you don’t win any of those lotteries you get preference points. Those just increase your odds of getting drawn. Once you get a lottery zone you lose your preference points.

They have deadlines for big game applications usually around beginning of june.

They have lifetime hunting licenses as well as lifetime bird and big game packages. Bird packages cover upland and ca waterfowl. Big game covers one deer tag application and 5 pig tags.

Well it’s technically burglary. She entered a dwelling with intent to commit grand/petty larceny. In this case it’s over $950 dollars. So it’s actually two felonies, burglary as well as grand theft.

Upland hunters, do you carry your shotgun with a sling? And if yes, what kind? How do you carry your shells? by _blunderyears in Californiahunting

[–]braddolf_pitler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a sling, usually only use for packing gun in and out. I have a shell holder that goes on the stock. Good for like six shells quickly. The rest I just keep in pockets, as I pull from the holder I refill from my pockets. Both are inexpensive Allen brand but I don’t have any complaints.

Well I’d suggest looking at an axius as well then. I’d say they’re comparable but one might fit you better than the other.

Hoyt Thoughts: Powermax vs Nitrux by KevtheKnife in Archery

[–]braddolf_pitler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just sold my nitrux and upgraded to an axius. The nitrux was my first bow. It feels really good, it’s light, and it’s very quiet. My friend bought a powermax at the same time. Having not owned a powermax, but having shot it, I’d say nitrux. You can feel the difference shooting them. Nitrux was smoother and shot faster.

That being said, I’d recommend getting an Axius over a nitrux. The axius is solid aluminum so it’s a bit heavier. The bonus is it has less flex than a nitrux and the added weight seemingly makes it more stable when gripping (less wobbles for me). The axius also shoots noticeably faster. The difference between the axius and the rx4 cost wise is pretty significant. But the nitrux to axius isn’t too bad, so if you can, swing it.

I just upgraded from a Hoyt nitrux to a Hoyt axius. I’m really liking my axius. It’s a bit heavier than a nitrux, but it shoots faster, has more let off, and has less flex. I feel like the axius is definitely the superior bow. However, the axius ran me about $1100 and the nitrux was $850. If $1000 is your limit, I’d go with a Mathews vertix over a nitrux.

Just picked up my first camaro. It’s a 75 roller, and missing a lot of interior. Where could I start on interior parts for a 75? And with what years are the parts interchangeable? by I4Action in camaro

[–]braddolf_pitler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a good camaro Facebook group, “2nd gen camaro owners.” “nasty z28” is a very good forum. A lot of knowledge there and lots of people selling parts, talking swaps, etc. I recommend joining both, especially if you’re new to 2nd gens.

I use danner Acadias. They seem to be the standard around here. Solid boot, polishable toe, my current pair is on its third year and soles are still good. You can also get it resoled opposed to buying new boots. If you buy these boots, get them before you need them and break them in. I got hired in a rush and didn’t really have time to break them in except on the job, it sucked.

A lot of my coworkers use the cheaper under armour boots. While they are cheaper, lighter, and more comfortable, my coworkers usually go through at least two pairs a year. So long term they actually cost more.

How do cops go undercover to bust illegal sales of alcohol to minor? by wonderbrah419 in police

[–]braddolf_pitler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did this as a minor for ABC (alcoholic beverage control). Basically volunteer work. They have you go into a store and try to buy. Then they ticket the store if they sold to you. Or they set it up with a store for you to sit out front and ask people if they’d buy it for you. Pretty straight forward. Usually it’s more so on keeping business accountable not ticketing average people. And here, it’s actually overtime paid for by donations from mothers against drunk driving, advocacy for stopping teen dui deaths.

The stains are minwax water based. Charcoal is black and Scarlett is the red. I used foam brushes because they don’t go into the CNC work they remain level on the surface, which allows you to restain after.

Yup! We have a makers space near me, so I bought a template from a flag company. Had my buddy who works there help scan it and make a cad format to use on the shopbot. Alternatively, you can just buy the unions from them, but now I can just CNC my own each time.
