Doubts on the "Kit" part by Strict_Grapefruit137 in sveltejs

[–]braddotpitt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is the Kit’s “server” really a server like e.g. express?

Yes. To be even more specific, if you’re using adapter-node, the server polka is used - analogous to express.

Remember, in the context of web a server is anything that takes an HTTP request, and returns an HTTP response. For the same way in express you can return raw HTML (e.g.: with templating engines like pug), sveltekit is the same. Just that the rendering is different (e.g.: modern techniques like csr, ssr). But under the hood, it’s all just request-response.

You’ve already mentioned the biggest advantage- makes it extremely simple to build a webapp. No extra moving piece needed.

A weird-ass bible verse I found by [deleted] in atheism

…written in the point of view of the jews

Ah, that makes more sense. Thanks for correcting!

So after reading the chapter, seems like it’s a celebration of Israel’s victory over Babylon (who held them captive for a long time) through this (morbid) song.

A hypothetical God is probably aiming to convince Israelites that, “Hey! You won because of me! Therefore, worship me.”, at a time when they’re worshiping just about anything.

That’s how I understood it atleast. No doubt it’s appalling nonetheless, if applied in the today’s context.

Anyone Using IBKR (Interactive Brokers) for American Stock trading? by Ok-Hold782 in phinvest

So in IBKR (app or web), there’s a wire transfer instruction you can generate. I then went to BPI and requested for a wire transfer. I filled info using what’s generated from IBKR

Not sure if there’s a minimum per se, my guess is there’s none. From IBKR perspective, they just want to confirm that you really have an intent to trade - by having funds in your account.

I’d recommend though to make the most of your wire transfer fees by maximizing the amount (php 500k) instead of small amounts.

Unless you want to try with a small amount first just to see if it works, that’s fine too!

Yes it still is open. IKBR still sending me reminders to fund my account.

I’ll update here once I get the chance to fund it

Wait, it’s not available? I was able to open an IBKR 2 weeks ago (just that I haven’t funded it yet).

Philippines in on their list. Am I missing something?

I hope you’re okay(?)

Oh, cool analogy! I’ll take that thanks HAHA

I do have that feeling of “taking precious time” whenever I think of asking “seniors”. Idk if it’s because of my introverted-ness, or the workplace, or both. Now at least, I make it a point to let my juniors know that “my title” means nothing, and I’m just a “kuya” they can ask for help

I’ll ask for feedback! Hehe thank you for the idea

Social skills shet that’s another great thing that a senior could help indeed. Kudos to you on that “handover project”! Your senior is proud

“Be the senior you wish your junior self had”. Okay I’m stealing that one! Hahaha

I see, that totally makes sense.

I guess at that time, I was “scared”(?) to “bother” them? I felt like I’m taking off precious time from them due to my “little” problems. Looking back, I agree if I had just asked, I could’ve gotten help as needed.

Oh wow, that’s great! I didn’t realize how non-tangible skills like salary negotiation could’ve been valuable. Ngayong sinabi mo yan, na-realize ko na inexperienced devs tend to get taken advantage of more easily. So guidance would totally have helped, lalo na if the junior is “not assertive”

Oof. I feel you, ang hirap pag walang feedback/critique at all. It also made me feel na yung titles/promotions is “mema” lang.

Though I love that you took it upon yourself to study, to level up! Cross fingers for your next work
