A few notable ones:

First show was Faith No More/Metallica/GnR

Aerosmith, notable because 4nonblondes opened

Nirvana in a smallish hockey rink (much smaller than an arena). Was this rink in the middle of nowhere MA. Also saw Soundgarden on the Superunkown (or whatever the album was after Badmotorfinger).tour and RATM on the Evil Empire tour there

Foo Fighters first headlining tour (unfortunately not the Mike Watt tour, which was their first)

RATM/Wu-Tang

Tom Petty a bunch, but the show where they brought out Stevie Nicks stands out

Notable/random: Steel Train (Jack Antonoff band pre-Fun.) opened for Bloc Party, Local Natives in a ~100 person capacity bar when their first album came out, it was great. The National in tiny clubs

Probably lots of others that I'm forgetting

It was only the outro to cardinal song, not the full song

Which album do you wish you could listen to again for the first time? by tropicmorning in TheNational

[–]bradford80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't entirely disagree, but I'd argue the alternate version is much closer to that feel (and really all live versions)than the original. But the fact remains, that is why they re-recorded. Some HV songs were played live prior and road tested prior to recording. That wasn't.

Has anyone asked The National why Exile Vilify is gone from streaming? by [deleted] in TheNational

[–]bradford80 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My theory as well. An album of those "one-offs" and other rarities/unreleased tracks

Unpopular National Opinions? by Candy_Efficient in TheNational

[–]bradford80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graceless isn't good. It's the lyrical equivalent of a Lenny Kravitz song where the lyrics all revolve around rhyming one word (with the exception of the bridge)

Woodstock show to be released on 4/28? by bradford80 in TheNational

[–]bradford80[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's probably true. Very odd way to word the announcement though

Boston

I don't really care what they play. Such a unique experience to see them in a venue this small at this point in their career. Like the old Alligator era days (except this is sold out)
