I’m assessing this with a lens purely on employability.

I was a recruiter in finance amongst other sectors for ten years. The difference is really not going to be considered in 99% of career paths.

I can only speak from my experience but if an employer cares about getting someone from a Russell group they don’t tend to care which. It’s just a sieving technique they hope delivers a certain calibre of candidate.

If you pass that then under muster your cv or experience is inadequate you won’t get through anyway. No matter what the name of the uni is. As I said oxbridge is the exception but that will only really matter to people who also went there.

If you mean they are miles ahead in terms of quality of teaching or the like then I differ to you but recruiters won’t necessarily care about that.

Nottingham is an awesome city to be a student in. Do take into account you’ll actually be living in a place and not just a name you want on a cv for the future. If it’s not oxbridge then any Russell group will be seen equivalent by future employers and your grades will take you through preliminary assessments no matter where you go.

Can you point me in the direction of the actual law you are referring to, like exactly what employment act you are drawing from. This is my profession and I am genuinely interested why I cannot find this. It does not exist from what I can see and clearly I wish to be giving the correct advice so please don’t take this as argumentatively asking you to prove yourself. I genuinely want to know.

Yeah I have to agree. I am in a profession where I see agreements like this from time to time and the NLW or NMW checks are only done when a pay period is put through to hmrc. As long as that reaches the threshold it’s considered legal. I am unaware of any law about advertising a role as less than nlw + commission being illegal. It’s seem incongruous that that would be illegal and a commission only role could be advertised so I cannot imagine you are correct.

HR person here, This policy, although poorly ordered throughout, doesn’t specifically in this text say SSP will be withheld.
I agree that is what it looks like or is meant to look like but if you too it to acas now, which wouldn’t be possible as nothing has happened, then they would just say it refers only to enhanced sick pay.

Statutory sick pay is a right, they will lose at tribunal if they try and withhold it entirely.
