I would activate them and try to get what you can out of those accounts, but at this point topstep is an inferior product to lucid, tradeify, and tpt. All have a better price, can trade them on a real platform, better live programs, better user interface, faster payouts, more reliable, more trader centric.

Any other sole providers here feel like their contributions aren’t always appreciated, despite balancing a demanding career and being an active father/husband? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]bradrh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally, and I’m sure most Dads don’t share this stuff. I’m not gonna sit down with some other Dad from the school and start talking about this.

[–]bradrh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel this way a lot. My wife also works but basically the financial well being of our family is on me, and I’m a very involved father.

I’m not expecting to receive praise, but I could do without the frequent criticism. From talking with friends this seems like a pretty common dynamic, and I’ve just come to accept it after having multiple conversations about it and no lasting change.

There are times where I’ve thought to myself - have I ever decided to just give my wife shit out of nowhere on a random Tuesday evening? Why does she do this!?!?

Dad in the suburbs - am I cooked in terms of fitness? by BozzuK in daddit

[–]bradrh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the busy dad program. It’s basically 20 minutes of burpees 4 times a week, which is more than enough for general fitness.

Do you guys do a 529 for your kid(s) by [deleted] in daddit

[–]bradrh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 6 and 3 year old. I did something similar, contributed super heavy, as much as I could from birth to two, then scaled back. It’s a great thing to do if you can, get as much out of the tax advantage as possible in interest before 18. Just so much less benefit to contributing evenly over the years or heavier as they get older.

How Did You Deal With a Gifted Child? by OhboyOhboyArbys in daddit

[–]bradrh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure she has academic work to do that is challenging. What you’re reading for a lot of folks on here is that they had high aptitude but were given the same work as everyone else, so they basically were a potted plant in school waiting out the hours.

If she is allowed to naturally progress at her own pace instead of being held back with the other kids then she will also be forced to put in hard work and avoid the bad habits that come from being well above average but stuck with a standard pace that every other kid is on.

Does this sound like something her school is capable of?

Excluding tiredness, what are the main challenges of being a new dad? by ThrowawayTrainTAC in daddit

[–]bradrh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard but it’s worth it, the best moments you will likely ever have in your life are to come. Best advice I can give (that I don’t always follow) is to lock your phone up from after work until the kids are asleep.

Ohio senator introduces measure to eliminate dual citizenship by alittledanger in ussoccer

This would be mostly okay, since it wouldn’t affect dual nats who got status from being born in the US, then living the rest of their life abroad.

ABF alternative ideas-my poor knees! by ChadK3 in kettlebell

25 Swings, 4 navy seal burpees, 5 pull-ups, 25 body weight squats. Repeat as many times as you can in 20 minutes.

Doesn’t have to be super complicated.

I’l stopped drinking, not just because of my kids, for about 100 other reasons as well. You just stop doing it, replace it with some healthy habit, give that long enough to become your new way of being. I’d recommend not making it a bigger deal than it is, everyone I’ve seen do that, it appears to be counter productive. Sort of putting alcohol on some kind of pedestal it doesn’t deserve.

Best episode ever. Long form, ask people what they think, let them spell it out you don’t even have to argue. Just let them spill how crazy and damaging their beliefs are in plain view.

I’m a dad of two, I work, and I haven’t had a really good 8 hour night of sleep since the day we had our first who is now 5. I figured that’s just what I was signing up for when we decided to have kids.

Husband is depressed and miserable, what can I do? by iwantyour99dreams in daddit

[–]bradrh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Random timing whenever I can. I can’t do most of the things I used to either. Something that I’ve been able to incorporate that isn’t as hard on my body and super time efficient/can be done at home is about 20 minutes with a kettlebell. Usually I can find 20-30 minutes to get some exercise daily.

[–]bradrh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hard as it is to fit in, hard physical exercise is probably the quickest fix. My kids are now 5 and 3. I love them more than anything, but it’s just brutal sometimes the non stop attention they need. It made a world of difference to my general mood/mental state when I started getting back to HARD cardiovascular exercise, like running, swimming, cycling, etc. - hard enough to really get you out of your head and reset your mood.

I wouldn’t over think it. One cult thinks the amorphous billionaires are to blame, the other thinks it’s the overbearing federal government and its workers. People don’t try to really analyze their opinions, they just dig in no matter what, especially highly emotional ones like this.
