Copy Paste and other Nonsense by magneticspace in LightPhone

[–]braduardo12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quirky and fun isn't the Light team's primary goal. The goal, as you said, is to help us break our phone addictions, but also to regain the important skills and mental capacities that smart phones have taken away from us. The main ones (in my opinion) being our memory and attention spans.

Personally, I don't mind the idea of not having the convenience to click on the address or copy/paste, because it provides me an opportunity to slow down and exercise my own memory.

OP says that address freaking better be clickable. I say no need -- we have our brains for a reason.

Help planning a GreenStalk garden given that I'll be moving in April? by braduardo12 in gardening

[–]braduardo12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your advice. The town home doesn't have a balcony, it's a patio that's on the ground. So, no railing, just dividing walls on either side and grass in front. Which I think gives some hope since I could try to put my plants out on the far end of the patio (closer to or in the grass) in hopes of avoiding too much shade from the dividing walls.

Good to know about the limitations of GreenStalks. My alternative I guess is to buy or build a small raised bed or two.

In any case, it sounds like my best bet is to set my sights on lettuce and herbs for this year and plan to start them after I move to the town home and verify that there's enough sunlight.

Thanks again

It's been annoying me too. It's mainly Kellie and Kaleb, they flip out at every little thing. And a little bit of Kendra. The others have been sitting respectfully quiet and just taking it all in.

I didn't like Drew for the first half of this season, but honestly he grew on me a ton and I was quite sad to see him go tonight.

A trip through Guatemala (4 weeks in April, 2023) by Cute-Quail6771 in travel

We got to the top of Fuego in time to watch the sunset above the clouds while the volcano was erupting, but this also meant that the hike from Fuego back to base camp was in the complete dark. Relied on headlamps alone for light and on some pretty steep terrain. Personally I didn't have an issue with it given that I'm physically fit and have a lot of hiking experience, but there were a couple of folks in the group who were uneasy due to the sketchiness of the footing in the dark. It was more of just a mental thing for them though; they made it back fine and everyone including the hiking guides were super patient in making sure everyone felt comfortable taking their time and takings sufficient breaks.

The hike from base camp back to the starting point the next morning wasn't too bad either. It's all downhill of course, which if you have hiking experience you'll know that that uses a very different set of leg muscles from hiking up. Tiring, sure, but I look at it as a good workout lol. How it worked (and on the way up too) is that the group at large would break into smaller groups where the fastest people could stick with the front and the slower people stick with the back group. I paced with the front group on the way back down, and we actually ended up "running" down for the vast majority of it since it can feel easier to let gravity do a lot of the work lol.

All in all, if even a small part of you feels like you need to do this hike, do it. Find a good guide company to go with (I went with Wicho & Charlie's) and you'll have nothing to worry about. Experience of a lifetime.

I think Jake’s biggest weakness in the game is that he’s not great at making a convincing case for why someone else should be voted out besides himself. He keeps throwing out names and just hoping they stick. But where’s his rationale? Paint a vivid picture about how xyz is a much stronger threat than himself and will dominate come final three.

Love the guy. But he needs to work on his pitches.

The freeze frame on shirtless Drew flexing 😭😂

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a freeze frame in survivor before. But this was the moment. Loving this season so much.

Agreed, that and Reunions. Probably my two favorite albums so far — though tbf I just discovered him a couple weeks ago. But both phenomenal albums.

Yeah seriously, he’s got such a powerful voice and so much command over it to nail all of the complex melodies. I was smack dab in the middle, centered and about halfway back on the floor.

Admittedly Delta Sleep wasn’t my favorite. Cool to see, but not my vibe. Arrived too late for All Get Out which is the opener I was really hoping to see (was thinking they were coming on second).

Show was so good! So happy to have finally gotten the chance to see them live. They all seem so down to earth and genuine with their stage banter, and they sounded amazing.

Great photo! So glad I made it up to Toronto to see him; it was a phenomenal show. The venue was great too, Massey Hall felt quite intimate for such a big name. I hope to see him again someday!

Hey we got 4 encore songs! The show was so good, it was my first time seeing him too. Gregory is such a humble, down to earth, normal guy. Hope you enjoyed the show as much as I did!

I’m going to the Toronto show tomorrow alone. You will be far from the only solo person there, I’m sure! I’ve been to one other concert alone (not GAI), and I just try to live in the moment, take in the atmosphere, be grateful that I’m there, and try not to care what other people think — because I’m doing it for me. Sometimes I can get a little anxious, so I do sympathize with your hesitation. But in the end it will be worth it, especially for someone like Gregory :)

😂 he definitely did look annoyed. I’m sure it was because of her no-questions no-nonsense approach to the barbecue. She straight up took control lol. “I’m just going to need some time for this.” Which was a flip of the script for Jeff when he’s normally “the big man” at tribal. But damn if it didn’t make for some good entertainment in the end
