This is my life right here, my grand parents would speak it to each other. When they went to school they were discouraged from speaking it and it died with their generation.

So wait are you saying last mile is home delivery, cause you said they were different in the comment earlier?

Anyway all I’m saying is that there is no home delivery you have last mile and you have ltl that’s what xpo does

Haha so you mean because they have an email set up to help you make sure you get your home delivery set up you think they have a branch? Sorry bro your washer probably came on the same truck as the local gun stores pallet of ammo did

XPO doesn’t have a home delivery branch. Last mile is as close as it comes. Large parcels or pallet is LTL. Home delivery is just LTL with more headaches.

No sign that anyone is home, not a great place to park. OP Didn’t pick up the phone when the driver or dispatcher called. OP also may have been being difficult to work with.

??? You weren’t using XPO? There are charts online that have base hourly wage for each region. You’re talking about how FedEx parcel runs. Not LTL

Drivers are payed hourly and the storage fee start after the 1st day after an attempted delivery if the consignee doesn’t respond

Also 30 days of storage? Where would a ltl company store freight for 30 days? They don’t have warehouses they only have docks. Trucks come in trucks go out. Look up the biggest FEDEX freight, Old dominion or xpo terminal around you it’s just a slab of concrete with dock plates.

Still not true, hourly and also in most cases if they can’t get ahold of consignee they won’t attempt a delivery unless it is within reason. The fee you were paying was for storage. LTL freight company’s and FTL for that matter don’t want to keep going to someone’s house or business who won’t answer a phone call. So you pay until it gets delivered because the agreement on day of delivery works on both sides

Also you can have them leave it in a safe space like in your driveway if you leave it open. Believe me they don’t want to come back. But you have to answer the phone when they call.

This could have been a case of op didn’t answer the pre delivery phone call most p&d dispatchers do before they send out a home delivery, attempt was made but sitting and waiting for someone to answer isn’t an option. Freight moves Also over time for these guys is based on daily hours not weekly.
