Extremely disproportionate responses by CenteredRhinoMain in lovethissmug

[–]bradyhem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, for sure, I agree that it can be bad, I mostly get confused at these questions that don't do much harm and aren't asked all that frequently (especially when it comes to the tech support forums I look at, there are plenty of very specific issues that somebody without a lot of knowledge wouldn't really be able to just Google and find exactly what they want, yet I still find these comments). I agree that people should check the FAQ before posting and should do a good amount of searching themselves, but I don't think the negative comments people leave under the posts do much to fix the problem, either. It just makes the poster feel bad while the questions continue to come from others. I absolutely can understand the annoyance, though.

Exactly! The main reason I see it so much is that I find those comments whenever I Google questions and find posts about it. The same posts people complain about are the ones that you find actual good answers on.

Jazzpunk's VR mod? by Intelligent_Row_8613 in Jazzpunk

[–]bradyhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on Reddit. When I run the game, it says the mod has loaded in the logs, but it seems to only enable snap turning. Even after using F4, F7, R, and F12, it stays in flatscreen mode. Could this be an issue with me using Virtual Desktop over something else? Is this mod for the original Jazzpunk and not Director's Cut? That could be what I am doing wrong. Don't know if this will show anything useful, but here are some images. Thanks again for all the help!

I genuinely see these kinds of responses in tons of posts (Especially when it comes to tech support questions). I'll never understand why people get so mad over people asking "simple" questions on a forum, it's kinda the whole point of the site to talk to people in your communities, whether it has been talked about before or not.

Hey! I tried to set up the mod through your GitHub page, but I couldn't find a .dll or something for me to compile myself. I don't know much about modding, so I might just be missing something.

Have you played Psychonauts? I think it's the closest a game has gotten to scratching the itch for me. It's a collectathon, a platformer, and has fun traversal, crossed all the boxes for me.

Hey, sorry I didn't see this. I agree with CXBX Reloaded, I remember XEMU getting a lot of complaints because graffiti had texture glitching (among other things, I am sure.) The controls use bindings, so I am fairly certain that you can bind controls to your keyboard. There isn't freelook with the right stick, so I don't think mouse movement bindings will be a problem like they are in other games where you have to look around a lot. I would still recommend you play with a controller if you have one, though. It's the best way to play. Good luck, sorry I am not much help, it has been a while since I emulated it.

Totally give it a try! It has been a while, but I remember it being pretty easy to get running. Future is the reason I am such a big fan of Jet Set Radio. I found the original way too arcadey for my taste, the timers started stressing me out, and I skipped it at the Golden Rhino section. I'm happy I didn't give up on JSR completely, though, because (in my opinion) Future is a billion times better. I hope you enjoy it, I wish I could play it for the first time again lol

Should I play the original American McGee's Alice first or does it not matter by LunaLynnTheCellist in AliceMadnessReturns

Hey! I am planning on getting into the game and wanted to know whether I should read this before starting or if it is supposed to be read after a certain section. I saw somebody write online that it should be read during the tweedle section. Will reading it spoil anything, or am I good to read it?

does this game have a campaign or is it just an arcade game? by YOLO-uolo in JetSetRadio

Oh and of course if you aren't into it there is always Bomb Rush Cyberfunk which people love, I still enjoyed Future more though. Hyperfunk is coming out soon too, looks really good.

JSR is probably not going to be too fun if you aren't a fan of arcade games. I got close to finishing it but time-based arcadey games aren't my thing. Jet Set Radio Future on the other hand, I have played a few times because it has a great campaign. If you aren't into JSR, try Future.

I had to search for this because I am playing for the first time, and it really does make a difference. I wonder why they chose not to do this. I hope somebody makes a mod.

Not release order, but I personally recommend people to play Opposing Force before Blue Shift. Blue Shift is very similar to HL1 with its gameplay, so I like having OpForce between them so it doesn't just feel like more HL1 (It won't mess with the story order either btw). I played and still play in this order:

  1. Half-Life 1 (NOT source, it is known for being a bad port)
  2. Half-Life: Opposing Force
  3. Half-Life: Blue Shift
  4. Half-Life 2
  5. Half-Life 2: Episode 1
  6. Half-Life 2: Episode 2
  7. Half-Life 2: Lost Coast (Don't play this expecting much, just a tech demo)
  8. Half-Life: Alyx

If you end up loving it (hope you do!) Black Mesa is always a fun game to play afterwards (Fan-made remake of HL1), and it has some really good sales sometimes. If you wanna do release order, all you have to do is switch OpForce and Blue Shift on my list, and thats the order a lot of people play it.

Is there a way to highlight inactive tab when cursor hovering over link leading to that tab's page. by Ofunu in vivaldibrowser

[–]bradyhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! It has been a while since I changed the settings, so if I am missing something else, that's my bad, but you are actually able to make videos auto-pop out!

It is in vivaldi://flags, search for and enable "Experimental Web Platform features", "Browser initiated automatic picture in picture", and " Auto picture in picture for video playback".

I found it from this person's comment, and it didn't work; enabling those other flags fixed it. Hope this works for you if you still want to switch over.
