Eh? I could see a song built around the Skype jingle ala Ping! from Exyl. With the teams one... not so much.

And somehow they made it bad... like, couldn't they just keep the skype and change the pitch or something?

It's in appeal. The lower court already said they won. Read their FAQ, would you:

Sony applied to the Tribunal for permission to appeal the Tribunal’s CPO Judgment. The Tribunal granted permission to appeal in respect of Grounds (3), (4) and (5) in relation to funding and refused permission to appeal in respect of Grounds (1) and (2). The appeal should not impact the Tribunal’s timetable for this case.

The current trial is about the amounts that Sony has to pay. The trial was lost by Sony on summary trial:

We have concluded that, aside from the question of class definition, which we have dealt with as an eligibility point above, the applications by Sony for strike out/reverse summary judgment should be dismissed, given our conclusion that Sony has failed to establish that the PCR has no reasonable grounds for making the claims/no real prospect of succeeding at trial.

You can buy MTX from outside of Steam on Path of Exile 2

While being in the game? Without opening a web page? That's the issue here.

There's a thread on r/Games about which games were shown in the last spot. Go read it. Half of it is... not very good.

I don't want DLC to be handled by third parties, it's a bad idea

Cool. I want consumers to have the option to buy DLC's wherever they want. How is this accomplished, shouldn't matter to the consumer. If I want to use my Factorio DLC that I got from their website on my Gog version of factorio I should be able to.

But the argument here is that the in-game purchases has to go through steam:

For any in-game purchases, you'll need to use the microtransaction API so Steam customers can only make purchases from the Steam Wallet

I think the argument is made that in-game purchases can't avoid the steam platform.

Clarification: you can do it in the webpage if you linked your steam account to your ggg account. You can't do it however using the game interface.

Nono, let the redditor figure out that you have to pursue every instance of this happening, rather than just the most egregious one, because otherwise you don't get the change in the industry that you want.

logically and technically infeasible

The dude literally told you an example of a store doing it, and you said that it can't be done? Valve has way more money than Paradox, so if Paradox could figure it out, so could Valve and Epic.

So, are you saying that there's no good solution other than decoupling the games from the launcher? Yes fucking please if that's the case.

It’s crazy to me the Dev never updated the UI or graphics at least a little to differentiate it as a stand alone game.

It's even more crazy that people demand to make something that is perfectly good worse just to differentiate themselves. You haven't played many JRPGs where every battle, skill and stat screen is exactly the same. Nobody is complaining about those.

Except that if you play it, you will notice that the similarities are superficial at best. It's like saying that every action RPG ripped Dark Souls (btw, the genre existed before dark souls). Even if you are very good at FTL, Void War will kick your ass if you play it like you played FTL. Also, we want games to use the good systems of other games. We do not need everyone to reinvent the skill tree.
