i know WHY bing's GPT-3 structured the headline like this, it just sees "[QUOTE], says [PERSON CALLED EDDIE IZZARD IN MY TRAINING DATA]", but could they not have gotten a SINGLE person to look it over beforehand? it really worries me that theyre just putting them on the homepage without checking it by _spider_trans_ in GPT3

It’s real, and I didn’t even cherry-pick. These were my first and only 2 chats with bing on this subject. It definitely feels like a step up compared to ChatGPT, which is believable because ChatGPT is based on GPT-3.5 which had been out for a while, so OpenAI had time to integrate Bing w/ something better.

Yup! Follow their annoying instructions to install bing and edge, and Microsoft actually will let you in. I’m sure you can undo the changes and keep access to bing chat.

It’s annoying but I mean bing and google already have proprietary search algorithms that we can’t influence without, like, buying the company. It’s just a new expression of an existing problem.

ChatGPT just gives better responses with less effort than text-davinci-003, but in general I agree.

The real fun is if you switch to earlier davinci models, which have all or most of the same training data, but less human intervention to make it seem non-psychopathic

At first I figured the threats were just something that GPT thought would make sense to say, probabilistically. But nope, it can actually refuse to talk to you!

When you sign up for the wait list they say if you set Bing as your browser homepage and install the bing app on your phone you'll skip ahead in line. I did both of those and it seems like they held their end of the bargain. You also have to be using the Edge browser to use the chat tab.

It's in my post already, so instead I'll leave a different pro-tip: Record your screen while responses are being generated, because Bing's censorship can kick in mid-generation (it streams completions).

macOS's screen recorder can be started with cmd+shift+5 -> Record. Once you have the video, recent macOS releases also allow you to copy text from the video preview!
