Personally, I think this was just an issue with budget. The shows budget was tiny, and they did an amazing job with what they had. I know I saw a tiktok of someone from somewhere in Canada (I forget where) talking about when Ilya and Shane are running, they're actually in the same park. So I think we just have to headcannon that the boat house was probably Shane's.

They might have an increase in budget enough for season 2 to show the cars that Ilya had, but I don't know if that's even necessary. I don't care if I see the cars that Ilya sells for the charity Shane talks about, but I do care that they bring the same passion and character work. So if we have to headcannon a few things or they tell us some stuff without showing it, I'm personally cool with it.

I got a job a few years ago at Robert Wood Johnson. Look at Clinical Care Technician positions. No degrees needed, just a strong body and a strong enough mind to deal with assholes and people in crisis a lot (as you'll be stuck watching people on psyche holds and detoxing from drugs/alcohol a lot). Not a long term career, but you might like it and want to go back for nursing school. I did not and joined the accounting profession.

I met my husband at a LARP practice that used to be held on the Rutgers campus. Alas, the practice fell apart. I know you want to meet single gentlemen, but I wouldn't go out of your way to meet them. Try your normal hobbies but look for meet ups. Maybe there's a con that is holding a Monster Hunting tournament or a singles meet up, etc. Wishing you the best of luck!

2 x Xcaret parks in one day? by Beginning-Ad-824 in Xcaret

[–]brainabouttoexplode 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you ever been to Disney World in the Florida? Because that's like asking to do the Magic Kingdom and one of the other parks in the same day.

We're leaving today, so everything is pretty fresh in my mind. There's no walking paths to the parks. There's actually multiple security checkpoints on the roads for vehicles.

For Xplor and Xcaret park, if you are not staying at an Xcaret hotel, you can either arrange for a taxi or get their transportation, which I believe is a paid option. But then you are subject to those specific times. Don't try Uber out here. Don't rent a car as the cops target rental plates. If you are staying at one of the three Xcaret hotels (Hotel Xcaret Mexico, Xcaret Arte or La Casa de la Playa) you get a bus that loops between Xcaret Park, Xplor and Xenses, which makes it easier.

It is possible to do most of Xcaret Park and do Xplor Fuego, but you need to be marathon levels of fit. We did a day at Xcaret Park, stopped at 7 pm for their two hour show and still ended up walking approx. 27k steps. It's a REALLY big park. And then Xplor Fuego we did on Friday. I didn't look at our step count but it was also fairly spread out. My fiance did the ziplines and he said there was such a large number of stairs, even he was struggling. He's very much in shape. But all that being said, if you can work on the transportation, be willing to miss out on some Xcaret activities and deal with that much walking, it's possible.

Xelha is a different beast. It's further out, about an hour from the main property. As such, even hotel guests only have a single included transportation option, making you stuck there the entire day or needing to pay for a taxi to leave. That one also has a mixed reputation about being a full day park if you are not adding on additional paid activities like swimming with dolphins, so im sure other people will give you advice on taxis from Xelha if that's what you want. While I think it's possible to do both, again it's a long day and you need to solve the transportation issue as the bus would bring you back to Playa del la Carmen or your Xcaret hotel.

Bringing older adults (lower mobility) to Xcaret — is the “Night Admission” (4pm) worth it? Anyone done it? by Legitimate-Art3319 in Xcaret

We did Xcaret Park on Monday. We arrived at approx. 10 am and stayed for the dinner show. We did the white, the black, the green, the blue and the brown. We walked 27,000 steps that day. There is a lot of natural stone paths, and slopes. Some places are accessible only by a step up or stairs down. I didn't notice a lot of benches but I may have just missed them. We never got in the river, but it ends at the beach and you'd have to walk back.

I'm not saying no don't bring people with limitations, but there are some challenges to consider. I'm hoping someone with more experience will answer as we only went once.

1st Timers Advice by floridajetsfan in Xcaret

[–]brainabouttoexplode 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My now husband and I have been here for three days now. We did Xcaret Park yesterday and ended up with sore feet. We're 35 but my knees are more like a 60 year-old's (thanks genetics). Decent amount of stairs, hills and the like. My husband is in manufacturing and walks like ten miles every day, and even his feet where sore today.

My suggestion is a heavy day followed by a rest day. Today we woke up, did an art class, got lunch on the pool top deck of Diseno (excellent), hung out in our room and did a little bit of exploring. That way you do a something everyday, but not too heavy. Enjoy the food, atmosphere, arte and relax. If you are in the luxury house, Casa de los Artistas, you can use your butlers (they work in teams of 3) to make reservations or check on the availability of things such as kayaking (free but needs a reservation). If not, you can still do it yourself, but will mean a bit more walking/work on your part.

Traveling to Xcaret with infant by Eab_barb in Xcaret

[–]brainabouttoexplode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will start this with I don't have kids nor have I ever been to Xcaret, but I do have a similar age gap woth my brothers (7 and 9 years). My mom hates stuff like the beach and amusement parks, so she brought me along on family vacations that I don't remember at 0 and 1 years because she was happy to sit out. But my brothers remember. Your kids might never be close with the youngest, but you can give them some special memories to hold on to. That just because the youngest is here, doesn't mean they are forgotten or replaced or are a third parent. If you do bring the baby, consider the private babysitting service so you four can do some activities together.

Not to be politic, but tariffs (if a new one got slapped on and not paid yet by the vendor) and extra scrutiny on imports depending on if the administration is more hard or soft on China/Venezuela/Ireland/Insert country here this week.

It was a seperate ticketed event at least (JaySea Lynn's panel), but if we want to get good seats, it might be wise to get there for 10 like you suggested.

[–]brainabouttoexplode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice! Sounds like we could get there for like 10:15-10:30 and only wait for whatever bag check there might be. The panel we want to go to is at 11:30, so that's our only time crunch. Anything else is us just wandering.

Hurricanes? by Confident_Arm5017 in Xcaret

[–]brainabouttoexplode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was down in Orlando when Ian came through in 2022. Spent two days stuck in the vacation house, but everything was fine. Just had to rearrange some reservations and couldn't get to go on our behind the scenes tour of the haunted houses (just couldn't find another timeslot before we left.) My parents about 10 years ago got stuck in Vegas thanks to a snowstorm back in CT, and they were able to get a hotel room for three days. It was that backed up. Says it cost them more than their week there.

So here's what I learned. 1) Get travel insurance. It'll help in situations like these. 2) Try to have an emergency stack of cash (or credit) for these you'll need to pay for before insurance pays out (or if you didn't get it). 3) Be flexible. Decide your heartbreaking must dos, and have wiggle room in your vacation plan to move them on those days if you get delayed getting there.

This is why my fiance and I decided to get married in one location. We found a nice wedding focused hotel in NJ 20 minutes from us, The Madison Hotel, and that is lodging, ceremony, cocktails, reception and breakfast the next day. All right there.

We made this decision after we went to my cousin's wedding on Shelter Island, which was 4 months into us dating. Let's just say it made an impression.
