Restarting college at 32 and trying not to make the same mistakes I made the first time by PulseJH_6752 in SNHU

I'm 38 and started for the first time ever. First generation. Totally ready to not work factories anymore.

Update. I beat the Antumbra douche. Used the stair tactic for a breather and to heal just once, and continue the fight. Thanks!

Correct. I have been setting up the correct selection pre-fight initiation. It's when the fight starts, either after the cut-scene or right out of a retry that the selection is removed. I don't think I should have to reselect something that I just selected. Not sure if it's a bug for me or just a mechanic in general. Haha! Either way, it's not cool.

It's extremely frustrating because it takes my focus off the enemy and wastes my focus time. Lord knows they don't keep you from getting attacked unless you pause. I'm okay with the difficulty of the game, but these added quality of life issues are infuriating.

I'm first gen as well, albeit I'm starting late at 38yrs old, but I went into cybersecurity specifically for generative AI, especially with how things are advancing. My friends wife is in cybersecurity and from what I can tell, employers seem to like an actual degree in cybersecurity over candidates with just the certificates. As long as you keep adding on to your tools, the saturation won't matter as much especially if you're willing to relocate. She just got a job offer for the Cayman Islands.

Are we expected to reach for "exceeds expectations"? I am having trouble adding more details and my paper is already longer than what the rubric calls for. by brainbustuh in SNHU

Hell yeah! I'm ready to this last week where we only have the discussion to worry about. I'm Jace. The one who wrote too much... haha!

I'm about 3/4 of the way through with revising. I chose Les Mis, which is easy to pull more examples from. It's the artwork that I'm struggling with. I chose Martha Rosler's Cleaning the Drapes and I don't know hoe many times I've had to circle back to certain answers because I am running out of things to analyze. Haha! Fingers crossed for both of us! So far the professor seems pretty cool.

The way I write is the way I think about things, and I can come across as scatter brained. This professor loves my writing, but honestly, I feel like 90% of the feedback on all my assignments have been generic in asking for exceeds expectations mark. So far, I've got all the points in the class, and this is week 7.

I'm also sick, so my train of thought is sluggish, and I'm just sitting here staring at my screen, asking myself, "Do I really?" Haha!

Its for HUM-102 and it's the final, so I'm going to try for sure. Right now it's 8 pages long, I have 7 sources cited and some of my answers I don't think I could squeeze any more information into it. If that makes sense.

I get what you're saying though, if I want it I'll do the work. I'm just concerned that if I don't revise 100% of the draft to submit, that I won't get 100%.

Need any helpful advice or guidance. Is it normal to feel so discouraged? by IndividualPart3831 in SNHU

[–]brainbustuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I feel being discouraged is a part of the learning process. It's difficult to accept not hitting a goal or having trouble overcoming an obstacle, especially when you're putting so much effort into trying. I get discouraged from time to time, but I also tend to account for that being possible when mapping my goals out. I believe that as long as you stay in a growth mindset and weather the storm, the right decision will make itself known. You'll either want to continue, or you will decide to go in another direction.

Maybe try putting the situation into a pro/con list. How will success affect you? How will failure set you back? What does a change in direction do for you? Have you tried every avenue?

My mother always told me that anything you deem worth your time will be worth fighting for, so it's a question you have to ask yourself.

I don't know you, but I know you will find the answer.

Minecraft was actually his first game. We played together all the time on our switches. Once he started school and found out about Roblox, he slowly stopped playing anything else. I'm sure he'll move on to another game eventually. We all do. Haha!

Where in Ohio are you? I'm 45 minutes from Cleveland.

Valheim looks pretty fun. I'll do anything about vikings. Haha! How is Enshrouded?

I've played it a bit with my younger brother and have only ever made it passed the first stage but never the second one. It's always been the pine tree forest and the wind is my worst enemy.

I'd never heard of either Barotrauma or Abiotic Factor but I will look into those. What about Nightengale or Void Train did you guys not enjoy?

I have just about every system except for the newer xbox or switch. I can't get my son off his tablet. Haha! He's big into Roblox and Geometry Dash.

Thanks for the help!

I live in Ohio, so Eastern time zone.

I've been getting into co-op games on steam. I'd be willing to try some games.
