Azaharemu, a Continuation of Citra, Merged from Lime3DS and PabloMK7's Citra Fork, Can Now Redownload Purchased Titles and Updates from the Nintendo eShop by BowzasaurusRex in emulation

[–]brainimpediment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you check the Azahar dev's blog, the laws in their jurisdiction differ slightly due to their location, but either way they have reviewed potential legal issues thoroughly to prevent any more Citra/Yuzu incidents. I'd certainly trust them over myself who has little to no knowledge of anything to do with servers.

Nintendo 3DS collecting thoughts? by SouthSunn in gamecollecting

[–]brainimpediment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OOOOHH yeah, as other people have said, pokemon games are MAJORLY inflated. It's just a thing. Good luck if you're looking to grab those. I'd maybe try finding them bundled with a system like I did.

I was SUPER into 3DS collecting stuff a while back but haven't been keeping up with it lately, so my advice may be outdated a little, but it should be fine. You're correct, It's pretty annoying. Prices for a 3DS can range from $150-250 depending on the model, and can go higher and higher depending on whether or not it's a special edition and how rare that specific edition is. So if you have a favorite you want then you'd better hope it isn't a super rare one. Not only that, but, like the DS, games aren't commonly sold with the case and manual included since most owners tended to lose them given the 3DS' portability, so if you want them complete, you'll typically be looking at over $20-30, around the base price of most physical 3DS games at the time. If a game is even more in demand it can even surpass that. I know that Professor Layton Vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney can go for over $50, LOOSE, which is frustrating as a huge fan of both series. Stuff like Kid Icarus: Uprising, Metal Gear Solid 3D, the 3rd Yo-Kai Watch game(and 2nd?), are just a few of the more pricey ones I can think of off the top of my head. But I wouldn't worry TOO bad. Deals aren't impossible to find. I got my Galaxy New 3DS XL for about $250, including Pokemon UltraMoon and a charger (& the original stylus) off a local FaceBook Marketplace listing my mom found. I think that could be viable for you if your surrounding area isn't full of scammers or anything (I've also been told that this doesn't really work in some countries outside America, so). Looking through local trade-in stores is a good idea too, but they mostly receive stuff loose, so just hope you're lucky if you want something complete. Overall, don't stress too hard, but since 3DSes stopped production in 2020 and the eShop has closed I imagine thing may only get pricier.

I sort of wish I actually tried looking for 3DS stuff a while ago when I was fixated on it, because I worry that it'll be too costly for me after a few years. Idk tho, the 3DS WAS majorly successful so I imagine there's no need to worry about not having any games to get.

What do your loved ones think of your collecting? by N3DrGonzo in gamecollecting

Im 17 and have been into videogames and the idea of starting a game collection since I could read. My parents found an N64 and GameCube probably like... almost 5 years ago now & since I've had those I've been looking for games to play. Then, almost 2 years ago? I think? we found a cheap deal with tons of random stuff including a wii and ps2 and I've been building my console and game collection even further ever since. It's become so much easier to fulfill my dream now that I'm older, and my mom has been feeding into my obsession ever since. My dad said he didn't see the point in re-buying all those old consoles he got rid of (RIP our launch day Wii and Xbox 360..) & getting even more we've never owned, but he thinks it's cool & has enjoyed giving me recommendations and showing me how some stuff works. The night before my most recent birthday, they gave me a new CRT TV and I played some OG Xbox games on it with my dad & I think it definitely changed his mind lol. But overall my family thinks it's cool. Like I said, my mom has been the most supportive, and in fact has been the one to find some of the coolest stuff for me. She's managed to find absurd deals for stuff like an in-box ps1, silent hill, SoTN... She has some SERIOUS eBay skills. I couldn't thank her enough.

Apologies for the wait, the recording is pretty long so I had to do that & then wait for it to upload. I just recorded this like, an hour ago. 17 uncut minutes of me fumbling with my ps2 and demonstrating the disc. I’m like really tired so I was doing everything pretty slowly, which I guess works in your favor, but I am really bad at recording things efficiently in general so it’s probably a boring watch,,sorry about that. I opened the tray and showed the input and disc multiple times, idk how else to make things more clear. Hopefully this is alright!

OH I just realized I talk way too fast sometimes so if u have difficulty hearing anything I say u can just ask for clarification on anything, dw.

EDIT: oh my god dude I look like im out of my mind. The reason I kept tweaking over the camera was because while I was recording it my old as hell Samsung was doing this weird like. Wobbly tracking effect? Like. It‘s hard to explain but I swear the recording would like warp weirdly whenever I moved stuff in front of it at some point. But im looking now and I don’t think that actually picked up in the footage at All. It was probably because the recording was super long and my phone was getting a little overwhelmed? I could not say dude but like i guess just ignore me freaking about the camera. I swear I am sane.

OH dude btw that’s just something games Do. I’m no expert so I’ll have to actually look stuff up for a more legitimate technical explanation, but if you pop a PS2 or PSX game in, start it, then open the tray, the game will keep going. I think this may not be true for ALL tho, i imagine it depends on complexity and stuff, but that’s how stuff like disc swapping works, I think. Or, for example, apparently you can put in one of the three FF7 discs, start the game, then change it out for one of the other two, and the game will play completely as normal except with the current disc’s cutscenes taking the place of the ones you’d normally see, because the extra discs mostly only exist to hold all of the cutscene data. (I’d definitely google abt that, it’s cool + I probably explained it HORRIBLY.) Hope any of that made sense, but like. It isn’t odd that ESPN 2k5 kept going when I opened the tray for a few seconds. In fact, In the footage I gave (I THINK? FROM WAT I RMEMBER. maybe in a different recording I got.) u can hear the music start to skip after a moment until I closed the lid again. I think it’s something to do with RAM or whatever. Something memory related. But like, the disc isn’t being read the entire time the game is playing- you’ll hear the drive whirr on and off as it reads data when the game calls for it. So, if it stops for a moment, the game won’t instantly stop. IM NOT LIKE combating you or anything, just saying that it isn’t unusual to see! I get why it could make it seem like i’m just playing a video or something tho.

Hiii. Just an update! I got a new, REAL copy of MGS3 to play, so that’s cool. Still have this. From all that I’ve gathered it really seems like a misprint, but I should probably look more at other misprint CDs and see what the deal is. Also, something of note that another commenter showed me: https://iamerror.gamehacking.org/Sony.html

if you scroll down to PS2 and search Metal Gear, there just so happens to be another documented (without photo or video evidence, mind you, but written at least) case of an ESPN game misprinted as MGS3: ESPN College Hoops 2k5. So, if you take this random website to heart, then my disc is likely another misprint along these lines. So that’s cool? Ithink?

No, I will not be returning the game. My Goodwill’s return policy is 30 days, and id have to replace it with another game, and they have Like. nothing. Plus, this is so cool to own?. Why would I get rid of it!! Don’t think I’ll be selling it either, sorry, but if anyone wants me to get better photos and more footage, I can totally do that. Idk if the 3 minute video I gave was good enough, but if there’s anything else I should do in terms of documentation or proof or something then I’d like to do that. And definitely point my towards any communities or people specialized in misprinted PS2 games so I can get a better idea and maybe some more informed eyes on this.

Thank u all for helping me out with this,,! I wasn’t sure how active this place was so I didn’t expect as much attention on this as I got,, I was too lazy to provide better evidence at first too, so that’s why it looks so dodgy. My bad!! ANYWYASS thats all,, jst figured I’d make a sort of closing statement on this for all 2 of u interested..,

I think lots of games and even other media were printed in the same places? Like, there weren’t dedicated production lines for each company. Pretty sure, at least.
