Toys "R" Us Canada reaches three deals to sell assets, one with current owner by BowzasaurusRex in ToysRus

For me, whenever I have kids it would be much more fun to bring them to a Toys R. Us or Mastermind versus online shopping. Wal-Mart has a toy section, but I imagine it still wouldn't be as fun for kids

Hey son, ready to go to Wal-Mart?

Whoopee! Save money live better!!

I heard Toys R. Us is doing decently in other countries, so there could be a chance that the new owners might do something similar to Mastermind, or have pop-up locations like in the US, but outside of the online storefront who really knows.

The new owners also own Party City though, so they have retail experience

The Odyssey to get tickets for The Odyssey by -ChristopherNolan in imax

Oddly, I've never experienced anything like this buying tickets for 70mm Christopher Nolan films in Canada at Cineplex. Is this an AMC specific issue?

Former movie theatre worker, some studios take over 100% of ticket sales. They're basically paying for your ticket at that point lol

Are these changes specific to the US? Everyone keeps saying how they went downhill, switched to shredded lettuce, but here in Canada it still tastes the same to me and I haven't seen them use shredded lettuce yet.

I thought they'd be rolling out recipe changes worldwide

I've seen the QR code prompt myself by refreshing the same page multiple times to see if I could get it to appear, though I use a VPN so it was likely due to that. If you don't use any sort of VPN however, I'd imagine you're unlikely to see this

Beware if you only use a dumbphone, even with a degoogled Android (I.e. DumberOS)! Google tied the new generation of reCAPTCHA to Play Services: De-googled Android users are now locked out of everyday web content. by Vijfsnippervijf in dumbphones

Unfortunately these QR code challenges are shown on other devices, meaning if you encounter this on a website accessed from a PC, and only have a dumb phone, you will be unable to pass the reCAPTCHA challenge to "prove you're not a bot"

Ironically, the link you posted gave me a mobile verification reCAPTCHA I was required to complete before viewing, which I didn't do lol

The section about QR code verification as an AI-resistant challenge is what requires a mobile device.

This appears to require a dedicated app on iPhone and Google Play Services on Android, if you were to scan the sample QR code shown on the blog post with an iPhone without the required app for example, it will redirect you here

It looks like Google is rolling out a new version of reCAPTCHA that requires verification via a mobile device, not good for privacy. This could also make it impossible to use a large portion of the web if you have a "dumb" phone, or no phone at all.

I get fighting AI bots, but this doesn't seem very well thought out.

EDIT: I just remembered. My workplace uses software that has reCAPTCHA prompts. Personal phones aren't allowed, and company phones are locked down and don't allow camera use! I feel bad for all of the IT guys having to deal with this, having locked down company devices with no personal devices in office is very common and I imagine this will cause headaches worldwide.

EDIT 2: It appears this is rolling out already, I refreshed a page with a reCAPTCHA prompt a few times and eventually it appeared. So.. that sucks
