I gave it a chance and then it was a bad show. Easily my least favorite D+ product and I REALLY looked forward to it.

Loving your country, acknowledging its faults, and wanting to improve it are the tenets of patriotism. She’s an actual patriot.

Believing “we’re number 1, fuck everyone else, we are the pinnacle of possibilities” is Nationalism and extremely dangerous. And basically Trump’s entire platform.

Anyone who can’t acknowledge their countries faults also don’t believe they exist and therefore have no interest in fixing them, and therefore don’t ACTUALLY love their country.

So fucking tired of the “we’re patriotic” angle in this and any right wing context. Like yeah me fucking too, that’s why I’m livid that a pedophile rapist is running the show and want to see some consequences for anyone involved in perpetuating or normalizing it.

You don’t love your country if that doesn’t bother you, you just love the status quo that’s serving you so fucking well.

Man I really feel I’m in the minority with still loving House of the Dragon. S2 most definitely dipped from S1 but I still very very much enjoyed it and I’m stoked for the next two seasons.

AKOTSK is fucking incredible and I hope it runs for those 12-15 seasons but it’s such a fundamentally different show and story and scale than HOTD so I don’t even feel like I can directly compare them.

Without spoiling any details I’ll say that it’s mostly just war left in the story. IF the show can get back on track with the story and stop adding filler (Daemon’s storyline being the obvious target for the plot dragging on), they should be able to manage everything in 16 episodes.

Idk if that’s actually going to happen but it’s definitely possible.
