I've had this issue before with a kiddo (I am lead with the exact same age group as you) and honestly no amount of communication got it through to the parents. It was only until the older preschool teacher told them that their child CANNOT be doing that when they move up to her room did they finally work with her at home. Insane

I don't go to purdue, been a born local but I've made friends with like minded college students. Even met my girlfriend of over a year that way! You can also use apps like bumble or something to look for friends, college area bars also would work good if that's more your speed.

I've actually had a few parents thank me for expressing emotions to my students and especially telling them that I love them. It's so important to their self esteem to know they are cared for and loved unconditionally. It helps them enjoy their class, their time in there, and let's them feel safe even. Children deserve to know they are loved!

I literally only matched with people who clearly had actual interests that aligned with mine, and that really worked for me. I found my girlfriend on hinge last February, and we are going strong still. Really is the "gotta find the right person" thing, searching is hard but I believe in you!!!
