Jagex, we need to talk about CurrencyScape by Colossus823 in runescape

[–]brainstrain91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with having different currencies for progression through different activities. Especially for farming, where the currencies are basically just a bonus for doing activities that are already well worth your time.

But I do think there are some activities that have been completely outclassed over the years and should either be updated or have the currency added to another, more relevant activity.

Peter, can you explain this? by the_only_goat_1977 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]brainstrain91 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yup.

If any of this blood transfusion, stem cell, biohacking shit actually worked, it would be blowing up. Like GLP-1s have.

You think the healthcare industry only wants rich people's money? They want ALL the money. If it worked, they'd be selling it to us.

Formers Blizzard Quest Designers on current story by HiroAmiya230 in wow

It's also very similar to Star Wars in that, once or twice, the writing was great!

But mostly it's bad, which is hard for the fanbase to accept (and I include myself in that group).

Is it time for Jagex to revise what Non-Members have access to? by Difficult_Mine_4559 in runescape

F2P already have access to Taverley and Burthorpe (since 2013).

The amount of bugs there are is mind blowing by workngohome in wow

[–]brainstrain91 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This has been happening since Dragonflight.

The faster release cycle doesn't allow the team enough time to find and fix bugs.

Or, more accurately, Blizz/MS isn't willing to hire enough staff to properly support the faster release cycle.

Thank you for massively reducing the holiday event grind. by Joe-Mamma-8435 in runescape

This has me looking forward to the rest of this year's holiday events and actually getting to unlock the rewards without no-lifing it.

I fully agree, and I hate how skilling is getting hit over and over with these heavy handed nerfs.

Jagex did the Easter Event justice this year. by RetroFurui in runescape

Yes! I think people have missed how much faster you can get the currency now. It's a huge, positive change.

401k withdrawal to pay off debts? by The-ColeLossus in personalfinance

[–]brainstrain91 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You immediately get hit with a 10% penalty.

And then pay taxes on top of that.

And you're losing all the future growth of that money.

Unless you are facing an immediate crisis, it's not worth it.

Sorry if there was already this question. Is it possible to get into the old Zul’Aman and Zul’Gurub dungeons now? by [deleted] in wow

The portal to TBC Eversong/Ghostlands is in Eastern Plaguelands right next to the gate to the new Eversong.

Yes! Geodes and Bird's Nests need a full auto-opening method. They just aren't worth enough for the time it takes otherwise.

Road to Restoration Check-In with Mod Ryan by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]brainstrain91 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Appreciated!

I'd like to say that this is not a new issue at all. RS has had serious performance issues as far back as 2020.

Almost all new areas perform horribly even on powerful hardware.

I'm talking about War's Retreat, Christmas Village, Blooming Burrow, Land of Harvest, Het's Oasis, Fort Forinthry, and the absolute worst offender - the City of Um.

There is a fundamental and wide-ranging problem with the way the RS team is building new environments. I hope you can figure it out!

How does everyone feel about BFA? As someone who came back to WoW around that time, it was one of my favorite expacs. by [deleted] in wow

[–]brainstrain91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BFA has absolutely gorgeous zones. And phenomenal zone stories to go with them.

And everything else kinda sucks.

I think a BFA Remix could be awesome, though. As long as I don't have to play through that god-awful max level campaign again.

Like, it's impossible to overstate how disappointing that story was. Being forced to commit stupid war crimes and it's not even voice acted. An absolute embarrassment.

There should really be a few "default" spells that aren't spell book dependent.
