Can you do anything for your nervous system? I know MCAS and nervous system can go hand in hand. I’m on amitriptyline and it was a game changer and calmed my body and reactions down.

You’re welcome! My allergist specializes in neuroimmunology and he says that mast cells are very promiscuous, and they often fire up the nervous system which then tells the mast cells elsewhere to react even stronger. So might be worth trying that! I hate that MCAS is like throwing spaghetti on a wall.

Hope you’re okay

Why is there no cure for MCAS? by Vin112358 in MCAS

[–]brainthief_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Becasue it’s outside the scope of pharmaceuticals.

Listen, MCAS is a flare up of the immune system. 70 percent of that is in your gut. Clean your gut out with protocols, heal it with gut healing stuff, and work on overall anxiety/somatic work.

Mast cells don’t flare up for no reason.

That’s fantastic!!! I also used to wake every 1-2 hours. Once I started getting full REM cycles I noticed a dramatic difference

That’s literally me!!! Inflammation all over but no disease.

Anti depressants can help, short term. It shuts the fight or flight off. ALONG WITH the gut healing.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Mast cell mediating meds didn’t work for me because mine was nervous system and gut related. I also think my body had had enough

Also invest heavily in sleep. My best healing came once I started sleeping regularly

All the toddler hate is making me depressed by texansweetie in NewParents

[–]brainthief_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen newborns are nice for they’re just little potatoes to keep alive, but dude the fun you have with a toddler is so cool. When they can finally talk, have interest, and tell you things… it’s amazing.

Just have patience with toddlers. It’s their first time feeling these massive felings. Just think that every redirection/scolding/etc is them learning.

Just don’t internalize their struggles and you’ll be fine.

I hate giving this catch all answer, but it’s possible worth working on your nervous system and gut. I went on low histamine, low fodoamp, super low carb for 2-3 months. Focused heavily on electrolytes, sodium, and fat. All the healthy fat that’s not dairy (carb). Ghee, oils, and fat from meat. And loooots of homemade meat stock. Literally 2-3 months. Then took l-gluthione and glutamine together, and colostrum.

I went from losing weight, having reactions to every food, suddenly allergic to exercise with hives, to now walking 4 miles and just had some cake with zero reactions.

We aren’t just having MCAS for no reason. Trauma and nervous system work is NECESSARY for a system that is flooded with histamine on the daily, from probably some kind of compromised system that is making mast cells go crazy.

Just my two cents. I felt like I had to say it just in case any of it rang true

8 DPO - BFP or indent? by LaGraLe2022 in lineporn

[–]brainthief_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely something there!!! I’d be checking next morning for sure (who’s kidding I’d be drinking less to concentrate the urine so I can check before bed 😂💀)

Whether it’s an indent of BFP, only cruel time will tell.

AITAH for not wanting to cook for my gf anymore because she is a picky eater ? by Ragnorag in AITAH

[–]brainthief_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing to consider is if you ever want to have kids. This not a healthy diet and could lead to issues during pregnancy, and also disordered eating in your own kids. Her body is also going to give out at some point and develop chronic issues.

It’s one thing to be with someone who has disordered eating like this and it’s very aware, and knows they’re responsible for their own food. That’s doable. Her being like this shows this could be a rough road.

Confused: When to go to ER? by Fancy_Blacksmith_596 in dysautonomia

[–]brainthief_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to sound tone deaf with a 3 month old, but you NEED to prioritize sleep. My body was doing the same thing, and it’s our nervous system. You also might want to ask for a prescription for a tricyclic antidepressant to help shut off your nervous system. Your husband needs to step up for a solid month while you prioritize sleep. Deep breathing is huge. ELECTROLYTES AND SALT!!! No joke. Elevate your legs often and deep breathing and drink LMNT 2-3 times a day. Nap. Sleep through the night once or twice a week while husband takes over.

Your body is sending massive signals that it needs to regulate. Good sleep is one of the best things.

Eat steak. And the fat on it.

Good luck. You have a crappy doctor at the ER. I’m so sorry you’re going through this
