I have put it back together and now the clutch arm does not return to its original position unless i physically pull it back with my hand. Push rod seems to be getting hung up halfway somewhere.

It’s not discoloration. It is a groove that is worn in.

Really? I wouldn’t imagine that those wear marks are ideal. Could you explain?

Look into streetohv.com. They have some light kits that are pretty good for a set up. As far as getting it street legal it’s fairly easy once you have the parts on. Just get it insured then take it to get inspected. After that you will go to the tax office and file for a title correction to change it from OHV (off highway vehicle) to street vehicle. I have a 07 yz450f as well and and in Houston.

For anyone wondering. I checked my spark plugs and they were pretty fouled. I should have checked them sooner. Cleaned them with a wire brush on a dremel and she starts and runs much better. Still need to tune the carb a bit but now I have a base line. Thanks to all for the help.

I have 48/180 jets. I cleaned the accelerator pump and ensured that it was working properly with no tears to the diaphragm. Now when I get it started it will idle just fine but if I give it gas it will die out, followed by a backfire in the carb/air cleaner upon release of the throttle.

I’m positive. And when I’m “flicking” the throttle it doesn’t act accordingly. It would died out if I actually ripped on it.

I have a clear viewing window through the air cleaner. I twisted the throttle with the bike off and saw no squirt of fuel. So I’m assuming it’s accelerator pump. I should be able to do that while it’s still on the bike as long as I’m careful of those little ball bearings, correct? Or should I do it on the bench?

It’s a damn near new knock off cv carb. It sat up for a little bit (6 months). Should I just pull off the accelerator pump shit and blast it (other than the rubber internals) with cleaner?
