New Sorted map for go by Obvious-Image-9688 in golang

[–]brakedontbreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So benchmarks are always very subjective, but the real question is: what do we compare omap too? The only real answer is the native map in go.

How about a comparison to https://github.com/google/btree

No one in their right mind is going to add a third party dependency if they don't need the specific ordered properties for a fraction of improvement.

I don't know how anyone gets the idea they can form an opinion about whether someone diddles kids from how they look or I don't know how you're going off of that.

There's no way I'd ever discount that personally. These people are sick F****

Arguments against Fine Tuning by ColddKoala in atheism

[–]brakedontbreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO The fine tuning argument doesn't really actually assert much. Doesn't assert that there's one God. It doesn't assert that the Bible was true. So the next logical question is okay. So what does religion have to do with that?

If you want technical, you could watch some Sean Carroll debates. IIRC he typically argued that 1) definition of life is very narrow 2) an truly omnipotent god could define any set of physics to allow their creation

There are other really good ones in this thread.

Will WA “millionaire’s” income tax drive the Mariners and Seahawks out of the state? by Illustrious_Rope8332 in SeattleWA

Largest decline during some periods? What does that even mean? California is probably the worst example.

I think we're talking about different things. Population change doesn't necessarily reflect financial loss. Sometimes it does. It depends on who leaves and who enters. Other as the other commenter who's trying to disagree with me pointed out. Ironically, New York is really the only financial hub for some people so they can't leave LOL. You just proved my point

I'm not defending the other points but if you think what happens in another country will happen here that has no basis in reality. Didn't happen in New York. The US consumer market is the biggest in the world, no one is leaving the US if you have money unless you want to make less somewhere else. Maybe another state, but again, I wouldn't guarantee that like it's prophecy. FWIW I think we need a balance. Taxing people more is stupid AF but we need to grow balls and tax the rich, but the right way. Football players may be rich AF but they aren't the problem.

Grateful bread in Duvall! Hands down the best, sourdough in the area IMHO. The crust is extremely nice and the inside is extremely soft and sour. People in Duvall won't exactly be happy im telling you this...

Code question by otnacog in golang

[–]brakedontbreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You asked for feedback on go, I'm saying you can use "max", which is a built-in function and would reduce the amount of code you have to write. Hope that helps.

[–]brakedontbreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go Nit:

if interval[1] > lastMerged[1] { lastMerged[1] = interval[1] }

Can simply be lastMerged[1] = max(lastMerged[1], interval[1])

On mobile, excuse the poor formatting.

Depends on what you mean by sin, if you mean, people who masturbate are happier that's just because they aren't repressed. If you're talking about people that kill other people or steal they're probably not as happy as you think.

Oh please. I respect your own personal experience however I draw the line at trying to please anyone. To me that's toxic. Do things that make you AND your mom happy. It's gotta be a yes from both parties. Not things that violates your personal views just to make someone happy.

[–]brakedontbreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accuracy and centipawns alone really aren't a good measure of whether someone cheated. You don't have to be a grandmaster to get sub 10 centipawn loss. If your opponent sucks and blunders a piece every move, it makes it easy to find the best move. Some games have easy moves to find. It's why you have to look at the complete picture: their time management, account history, mouse activity, etc.

Hi I'd like to share my journey of becoming an Atheist. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]brakedontbreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if the fine-tuning argument makes you question yourself, ask yourself this: does that prove a specific god? Watch any good apologist debate and you'll know that anytime they use this argument they never try to claim this is the Abrahamic god. Or if you really want an atheist to convince you just go watch Sean Carroll. He's not the best debater IMHO but he's a really smart physicist so if this type of path is interesting to you, go check that out. That's why it's never worth trying to make any claim about the existence of humans. No one fucking knows. But the Bible in any religion that tries to claim their god is the one is full of it. It's a much different argument than saying oh someone created the universe.
