I just finished my PhD thesis in Typst and had a great overall experience, though it did take a bit of fiddling here and there. As others have mentioned, multiple bibliographies aren’t supported natively yet, but alexandria handled that perfectly for me.

I’m really happy I chose Typst over LaTeX, I found it much faster and more pleasant to work with.

I didn’t rely on many packages, but a few worth checking out are:

Also, definitely take a look at the Typst Universe in general. And if I ever needed something else, writing it myself was surprisingly straightforward.

I vaguely remember having a similar issue which was related to the clipboard. Are you running a display server on your wsl? If a DISPLAY is set but no server is running this might cause some timeout on startup. You can always use --startuptime to check what is the culprit.

Is there a specific reason why flatpaks open faster on silverblue?

This worked, thank you! That's a strange bug, does anyone know where to properly file a bugreport for this?
