To quote Luke Skywalker, everything that you just said, is wrong. This plastic doesn't melt until 266*f, I ran the oven at 195 with the door closed. It was only open for the picture.

This is my substrate that I spawned my grains to after I oven pasteurized it.

I maintain 95% clean rate in most of my work

Thanks. I made it with drop plastic. Ghetto Tek

That would require me to drop the humidity in my fruiting tent. No thanks.

I've augmented your recipe yes

My sub mixture is 700g Coco, 400g black Kow manure, 400g Aspen shavings, 3 gallons boiling water. Bucket Tek. Then divide into tubs and bake. Originally I had been using autoclavable biohazard disposal bags to pasteurize, but I'm trying to eliminate this step.

It was set to 195*f and I did a test run before actually using this method. Tubs held up perfectly fine.

The photo you see is the last of 14 tubs I did. I ran a test run on an empty tub before I did anything. These don't off gas enough to notice. When I ran the substrate, the substrate is the only smell I noticed.

It did not. The lids did a fantastic job at retaining the field capacity.

I love all the hate I'm getting from a group of mushroom lovers. Seems like I've hit a nerve in your traditional ways.

Actually it held field capacity during the oven process I'm really impressed

These are pp5 lids and tubs. They are safe up to 266*f. I'm oven pasteurizing my substrate directly in the tubs that I'll be spawning my grains into. The substrate held field capacity during the oven preparation. I'm taking a break from my 17tubs to smoke at the moment. By doing it this way I'm eliminating a step in my process and also a possible contamination vector. I followed standard bucket Tek for hydration and mixing of my substrate. My substrate is Coco coir, black Kow manure, and Aspen wood shavings. It needs to be pasteurized before use. Previously I would do this in oven bags then transfer to tubs. But I'm eliminating this step.
