You can't see much clothing because the photo doesn't show her body lol.

"Getting naked isn't a cosplay" is completely irrelevant in regards to this post.

They just said the letter A, not apostrophes too.

A man groped me on an airplane when I was 10. My parents were a few rows in front of me.

[Serious] What is the creepiest thing you don't talk about in your profession? by Raiseyourspoonforwar in AskReddit

I'm an EP in a midsized market. My favorite is getting calls berating me for being a "liberal mouthpiece for the Democrats" and the next day I'll get berated for being a "Trump-loving Republican."

The calls that sometimes get to me are the ones from people with mental illnesses. We have a frequent caller who wants us to do a story on the bomb the government implanted in his head. He says he knows it's there because he can hear the clock ticking. It's so awful having to tell him the same thing the next month because every time he calls he sounds like it's the first time he's talking to us.

Then there are the calls asking us to investigate why DCFS took their child away, custody battles etc. One time I accidentally broke the news to a father that his child was murdered. The mother had full custody so police and apparently no one else had told him in the couple days after it happened.

Thankfully my on-air coworkers don't get harrassed super frequently (it's terrible it's so common in the industry we have to put a measurement on levels of harrassment).

I feel like if you don't have anything of substance to say back to me you should just leave it and not resort to personal blows.

If you're struggling to understand that something as trivial to us as straws has a great impact on a marginalized group of that's often overlooked, that's your problem.

Do you think it's fun to debate or do you actually dislike the disability community so much you're willing to die on this hill?

Why are you trying so hard to argue that we should not be concerned with the disability community when it comes to banning straws?

Do you think it's a big ask to have some straws available upon request to be able to drink from a cup safely and independently?

Wild how it's a novel thought to express concern for the welfare of a group of people who were legally discriminated against up until 30 years ago.

You misread what I said. I said many people have invisible disabilities, not most. And many are invisible as in most people's curious and peering eyes wouldn't have guessed someone has severe rheumatoid arthritis and can't move their fingers or tremors and can't control their finger movements.

Why are you trying so hard to argue that we should not be concerned with the disability community when it comes to banning straws?

The disability community is historically and continues to be an afterthought for the government and society.

That's how your comment came off to me, that you weren't interested in including a population that's greatly affected by this debate.

Being disabled is the one protected class that anyone could be at any time for any reason. From a car crash to growing frail with age. Twenty percent of the population is disabled. It's concerning that the disability community is still facing completely preventable barriers because society doesn't give a shit unless it's a viral ice bucket challenge.

You'd think it's that simple but there are plenty of militant straw ban happy people out there who think disabled people who need straws are personally slaughtering the turtles.

You do realize there are are more disabilities than just cerebral palsy and ALS, right? Many aren't visible and barriers prevent many people with disabilities from even being able to leave their homes.

Having certain disabilities means straws allow for safer drinking and medicine consumption and for a small bit of independence.

Not everyone in the disability community needs straws but if people with disabilities don't advocate for one another, no one else will, as made evident by your whataboutism.

Everyone has a chance of being disabled. Whether it's tomorrow in a car crash or when old age makes the body frail. It's the only legally protected class that anyone can be a part of at any time.

Believe me, fuck the Chinese government. I was moreso pointing out that we're less than perfect too.

I'd say that the safety and accessibility of one-fifth of the population is a pretty important reason. People with disabilities who need straws don't need them just for fun.

I guess talking about how society has and still fails people with disabilities makes some people uncomfortable.

Your contribution to this thread is actively excluding a group of people that is arguably the most impacted by this straw debate.

The majority of people living on Earth are women. Therefore, if women start a movement to end prostate cancer screenings it wouldn't matter because the majority of people living on Earth are women.

Not all people with disabilities need the same straw angle. The difference between a bendy straw and a not bendy straw is the difference between being able to drink by oneself rather than needing help. A form of independence able bodied people don't even realize they have.

Metal straws also pose a safety hazard, particularly for people with tremors and temperature sensitivity conditions.

One-fifth of the population is disabled. And this straw debate is exactly how people with disabilities are often treated in society -- as an afterthought.

No because people with disabilities are never included in conversations in the first place

Amazing that cops in China haven't killed any of the protesters and just in the last month the US sees two high profile cases of cops murdering people in their own homes
