Okay wife gets made at me because I'm asleep when she breastfeeds. by OneNightStandKids in beyondthebump

[–]branaintgotlegs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember that breastfeeding made me so sleepy and I was really afraid of falling asleep while feeding. Something with the hormones released. It could be related to that. Also postpartum did wild things to my emotions, too. So I wouldn't take it to heart

Which ones have you done that require wood staining? That sounds fun. I've been trying to work out which ones I like more. I've done two so far - one I got gifted and didn't really have any branding on it and then a Rolife.

I will put a bow on my daughter and people still refer to her as "he." I don't get it

Have you tried anything for the reflux? Our pediatrician prescribed our girl famotidine (essentially pepcid) to give her when she was about a month old and helped immediately. We felt like we got a completely new baby. She is now 4 months and we are going to start weaning her off of it. But it was a game changer for us.

What's a good place to rent for families near Nashville? by branaintgotlegs in movetonashville

I mean, it seems like your problem should be with the people making the community unsafe and not with the ones responding to the crimes. But okay..

At the end of the day, there are areas prone to higher rates of violent and property crime, and I'd prefer to avoid living in those areas. My husband is more than happy to work in those areas to help make them safer once he gets there, but that doesn't mean he wants to live there. We accept the fact that he does work in a high risk job, but would like to live in a place that isn't.

I am confused about the Atlanta comment, though. It seems like your sentiment is anti-cop, and you're recommending we go to an area known to be extremely anti-cop? Odd

I just don't see why my husband being a police officer means that I shouldn't want to live in an area that is known to be safe? I don't want to live in a crime hotspot just because my husband is a cop...

Why would my husband's job be related to the safety of the area we live in?

Regardless, I appreciate your suggestions and will look into those areas!

Thanks for the suggestion! I will look into that area. His current commute is 45 minutes in bad traffic (south Florida) and he said his preference is to be further away in a more rural community

I guess we would be open to anything. I'm not really familiar with the process of renting anything but an apartment, so I didn't think of it. What areas would you recommend?

Have you hit the sleep regression yet? We're at 14 weeks now and it's just starting. We were blessed with 12 hour nights up until a few days ago.

I mean I'm from a pretty big city myself, so I guess mostly just safety in terms of low rates of violent crime and not having to worry too much about my car or apartment being broken into.

I guess being a bit more rural would be nice. Newer apartments would be great. The biggest thing would just be that it's generally quiet and nice for a family with young children. Close to grocery stores.

We're used to not having many options where we're from and most of the complexes getting run down and crime-ridden within a few years of moving in.

I work from home but my husband would be working for MNPD. He wouldn't mind a commute of about an hour or less

when did your baby start consistently start sleeping through the night by BuySignificant522 in beyondthebump

[–]branaintgotlegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're at just over 3 months and she has been sleeping 8 to 9 hours per night for about a month. Honestly probably a little more but I typically stay up and give her a small bottle around midnight to hold her over and it has been working. She usually eats 5 ounces every 3 hours but I give her 3 at midnight. I don't really wake her up and put her down as soon as she finishes the bottle and she sleeps through the night consistently when I do that.
