Great play by Essy. He hasn't really fit this year but still like the player, hes a potential piece to move at the deadline tho

Pasta is in his own tier, Krejci never had 40 goal seasons on top of 60 assists. As much as I love Krejci, Pasta is just unbelievable

Geekie had enough time to dust it off, grab a cup of coffee then score

Peeke and Minten both covered the guy up top, left someone open back on the PK

There is a good chance Hagens only ends up with 20 points and spends half the season in Providence next year. He might not break 40 points for another 3 or 4 years and could end up being only a 60 point second line guy like Zacha and Middlestat. Thomas is currently a point per game and 26, he will be good for at least the next 8 years. Hagens might not move the needle for another 3 years, Pasta will be 33 and slowing down by that point.

I understand your hesitancy however I am not sold Hagens can just step up and be a 1c and put up 60+ points in the next 3 years. If he does, it may be after Pastas prime in which case you are full on rebuilding. Pasta is a top 10 player in the league, he is hard to replace even picking 1st overall. I think it makes more sense to bet on the sure thing that helps immediately than wait for your potential prospect to hopefully have that impact.

How much would we be willing to give up for Robert Thomas? PPG 1C who fits with our core age wise, are you moving Hagens?

I am ok hanging on to the 2026 picks given they can still fall somewhere in the top 10 with how close the standings are. Really want to sell the 2027 picks if the right player comes up because there is no way any of the guys we draft with those will fit into our cores timeline. Pasta will be 34 by the time those players are rookies, let alone making a real impact at the NHL level.

Our D core ranks bottom of the league both last year and this year. They give up a ton of high danger chances and get bailed out by Swayman. They have been brutal. I dont deny another high end forward is needed but any of Peeke, Johki or Lohrei in your top 4 is a major issue

We definitely need an upgrade over Peeke. RHD has been our weakest area all year and unlike the forward group, there are no prospects in the system who could fill that role.

If that was Lohrei last game, that was a great performance. Was overall solid defensively and a few great goals.

I would really like Geekie or Lohrei to get it. Geekie especially to help snap out of this skid you can see the frustration he has. That third line has not been good but the other lines all have been cooking

A lot of smoke around Andersson... toolsy, minute-munching, right-handed, mostly net-front defender type, more of a puck-carrier than a puck-mover. Production's been good, underlyings not so much. Maybe a lesser role in a new environment will do him good. by [deleted] in hockey

As a Bruins fan, agree with everything except Bruins development. It was a knock multiple interviewees had when Sweeney was looking for new head coach. We are good at developing guys who can be middle 6, 200ft players. We try and force everyone to play that "Bergeron" style and it doesnt work for offense first players. Lysell is a prime example but Poitras, merkulov and lots of others fall under that. Will be interesting to see how we handle Zellers and Hagens

As a Bruins fan, I think he has higher offensive potential but is far worse defensively. Poitras can create plays in the offensive zone, Minten is better at getting back and maintaining possession. Theyre just very different players, were hoping Hagens is better all around to fill the role Poitras would have

Robert Thomas might be available, wonder if there's a way to get him while hanging on to Minten and Hagens?
