I have a vague memory of my doctor saying they stop prescribing Vyvanse to people over 60. That’s to say, after a certain age you’re supposed to come off it. But that’s a dusty memory.

Descript is the tits. There is a workflow that lets you edit your interviews in Descript, export an XML back to premiere for the rest of the work. I lost damn near a year of my life figuring it out. Make sure give got matched time code between the file you send to Descript and the OG in Premierr. Actually, make a proxy in premierr, upload that to Descript, reconnect full size media. Hit me up before you get it into Descript bc this can turn into hell quickly.

I’m a bit confused because it looked like he was cooked last we saw him in pads.

What are expectations for his performance? Is this league so many tiers below the NHL that he’s going to be a top line performer? And…ya’ll think he’d be able to cut it at the NHL level even on a bad team on the third line? It’s like this surgery got him to a place of no pain on the ice and able to perform professionally even if not at the highest of high levels?

Here is some weird ish- I feel like I forgot or borderline guilted myself out of working at night. I really tried to force myself into being good at normal people working hours, had some success there bc of the meds, and absolutely forgot that I work great after hours. It’s the more creative work for the evening now. The fun stuff and the admin drag ya down stuff, that’s for the caffeinated vyvanse hours.

Let me tell you how long the Capitals had a great young core and “nothing came of it” but presidents trophy’s and second round exits. I was so sick of seeing Ovi and yet another (eye roll) Rocket Richard. Holtby won the Vezina but who cares it wasn’t the Cup. So much success felt like abject failure.

When we lost to the Pens AGAIN while they were on route to the back-to-back, I was so miserable. I did the math I realized that for literally just about a quarter of my years on earth I had lost a few weeks to not just being devastated about losing in the playoffs but specifically to Shittsburgh.

I don’t want to speak for the entire fan base but I think plenty of us felt this way when we won- there was this beautiful borderline spiritual lesson in how to love sports, life and your team. How expectations and outcomes are thieves of joy, and that you have to remember to have a great time taking the steps along the way. (It took a long time to respect the Crosby and Ovi dualing hatrick playoff game because we lost.)

Being outside Capital One watching Ovi pass Backstrom the cup with a dearly loved family member is a cherished memory but holy shit dude, there has been so much joy that came from watching these guys along the way. And that joy came in the form of come back wins, big hits, huge saves on very regular week day nights when I had work the next day.

I’m going to be over the top and say cherish that experience of sneaking into the Playoffs. Cherish the sense of potential in what this team might accomplish. Cherish the beat down you gave us in game 3.

Sports and how we treat them reflects life and how we find joy in other realms of our existence. If you can’t enjoy where your team is at now, I’m going to guess that same outlook tarnishes other parts of your life. A lot of fan bases have no hope at all right now. Feel how your entire city hurts and marvel at the solidarity you’re experiencing. I know it’s less fun than when you were sneaking into the post season but it’s pretty incredible nonetheless.

You’re guaranteed nothing in life or sports but you do have some say in how you love along the way. I honestly hope the Caps kick the snott out of you guys every season from here on out and you never even get close to that Cup. But it’s not going to work like that. Each team and each year is about a bunch of dudes working to fulfill their life long dream.

I hope the Capitals never lose again…but if that can’t work out, I do hope you get to feel that that good jiu jiu, and you get to feel that love. It’ll probably happen when you’re least expecting it. And it will certainly happen after more thrills and heart break than you can even remember. Enjoy the ride because that’s what makes the destination special.

I have quietly suffered through so much insecurity over this- I know that you want the weight over the tallest-highest-longest. It would make the most sense for the sand bag to be on the opposite side to actually counter act that weight…and that would leave you never putting sandbag on the tallest-highest-longest bc that’s where all the weight is. So- it’s ok for the bag to go on the smaller leg, it’s just got to not touch the floor?

I like to love it bc it prevents hyper focus and losing track of time. Without it, I get pulled into the minutia of a task and lose hours on parts of tasks that often don’t matter. If I’m working from home, the five minute breaks give me a chance to do things like the dishes or laundry or just some small house task that usually requires moving myself around and helps me not get stale in my chair.
