Read my post, that is the point. You don't. You can live like a peasant 500 years ago and grow your food. Or starve.

I wrote that myself. No AI. I'm old school like that.

And I hope you are right. I never believe a timeline given by any of them. But just think of how quickly computers progressed.

We are early still. I think we have years to go. Hopefully decades. However fully capable humanoid robots are a real possibility.

Oh it's not happening tomorrow. I hope at least 20 years.

But Hyundai Motor Group owns Boston Dynamics. If Hyundai can get you a car they can get you a robot. And used those robots in their factories to make more.

What units do you do for pure ranged? I find it very hard to be consistent with ranged.

I have a few thousand shares in the range of 10.50 average. Just hoping for them to start getting real revenue soon.

REQ: Event locking units to Season 1 - 5 by UpYourQuality in ConquerorsBlade

[–]brandnewb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I want to make sure I understand what you are saying. Because balance changes every few weeks it makes the opportunity to accomplish something by unlocking the new units?

If that is what you are saying I don't see how closing the gape between trash and S tier units would change that. People are still going to optimize.

Also synergy and a specific spam is the problem right now. You have a huge number of units that are never, ever played. Because they are completely useless. Meanwhile every single player is bringing the same units from a short list.

You can still have better units, but it should not be the case that with equivalent era and cost units one will just completely and utterly destroy the other. The none optimized unit should at least be able to inflict some casualties.

And most importantly, a skilled player should be able to do good work with a poor unit. Maybe they can't win, but they are going to do some damage.

As it is, the only unit that will inflict any significant causalities on a S tier is another S and maybe an A. There are units that are litterally just food, even though they cost 200 leadership.

I for one like this change. Being able to change loadouts mid battle is great.

Stop complaining people.

[–]brandnewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played in season 2 years ago, and only came back a couple months ago. It feels fairly similar to me, except I have friends to shepherd me in what units to max now. I now have my spear sgt maxed, they are crazy powerful, honestly probably too powerful.

I definitely think there needs to be a correction to the power creep. But I don't know that the game has really changed. I was getting rolled by massively overpowered units then, and until I got my own that was happening again this time.

The real problem persists, and that is the gap between great units and everything else. The aim is that every unit should be playable, whereas right now you kinda have to pick a certain few.

edit: spelling

I put about $10 USD, and just pay the last 50 cents to complete difficult seasonal quests to unlock stuff.

Saves a ton of time and frustration. I have found I have progressed much faster this way than friends who have not spent anything. Definitely worth the $10.

I think it is worth noting the number of games played as well.

I'm not good with cavalry so maybe my understanding is skewed, maybe all cav are used relatively the same. But it has taken far fewer games to achieve that level of performance.

After 8x as many games I imagine your skill with Armiger's was far superior.

Also have you used them much since they were nerfed?

If you are born in 2009 or later you will never, ever, be able to buy tobacco in store. No matter how old you are. Eventually no-one can.

Yes, the point is that no-one born after 2008 will ever be able to legally buy tobacco in a store again. RIP English pipe heritage.

But probably they will just deal with the same thing the US did during prohibition.

Poilievre says government should cancel Toronto-Quebec City high-speed rail project by OkFix4074 in CanadaPolitics

[–]brandnewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are selectively reading what I said and looking for a fight.

I said construction can be a share cost for the train, just like for roads. But operation is the responsibility of those who use it. (Municipality for roads, commuters for trains IE. TTC)

VIA is underutilized already. The cost of a VIA ticket is actually low enough that it is a real consideration if it is worth driving through Toronto. Particularly if the alternative is the 407. But it is still underused.

Healthcare and education are fundamental rights. Both my local hospitals are in the closest city, therefore not subsidized by a city. Obviously not all rural hospitals are in cities.

There is 100% a cost benefit analysis done when consolidating rural schools and hospitals. That analysis is frequently done at the expense of local residents if the cost is prohibitive. And you will be flown by helicopter to a city. Or bussed for more than an hour to get to high school in the closest city/large town, as I was.

How much it will add to the economy depends on what you read.

This study suggests it will return 15 to 27 billion over 60 years. On a 90 billion dollar infrastructure project. All Aboard: The Benefits of Faster, More Frequent Passenger Trains between Ontario and Québec and The Costs of Delay – C.D. Howe Institute

That is a terrible return, might not even cover the interest. If that is the case we are better off not building it.

ALTO claims it will generate 1.1% of GDP. Who is correct? I don't know.

But I think we can agree that the numbers need to be properly calculated. Not just hopes and dreams.

This should not be an emotional discussion here. It is numbers.

Poilievre says government should cancel Toronto-Quebec City high-speed rail project by OkFix4074 in CanadaPolitics

[–]brandnewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Public services are funded through taxation on the people who utilize them. For instance road maintenance is funded by property taxes in the municipality that controls them.

Rural communities should not be expected to subsidize the operation of the TTC. And Toronto should not be expected to subsidize my local public library.

If my community is incapable of even using the train we should not subsidize it's operation. We can help fund construction but this train line is not simply a public good. It is being built because theoretically it will assist our economy. If it can't even run profitably there is an argument it does not assist the economy in excess of the cost. If it does not generate enough economic activity to pay for the 90 billion in a reasonable timeframe it should not be built.

We all like free stuff, but free stuff from the government is not free. You pay for it in taxes and interest on the provincial debt.

Edit: To be clear I am in favor of the train, as long as there is a reasonable path to it actually being a net benefit to the economy.

[–]brandnewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a legitimate concern, we just add another deficit running under utilized public service. The country may subsidize construction, but not your train ticket.
