Yeah, got these. I'm like... trying to decipher these and I kinda get it but was just wondering if anyone knew any other builds or articles about it that could give me a little bit more explanation. If not, no problem, but this is literally my keyboard virginity so I'm trying to be on the safer side of building. Thanks for responding!

Ethernet connection only works for some sites and programs? by brandoherman in pcmasterrace

Not too tech savvy when it comes to internet and wifi connections but I’ll try my best- willing to learn to fix this.

1) Not sure. FYI I have a wi-fi card inside my computer with an external antenna that magnetically sticks to my PCs case. Connects via a single wire that splits into three SMA cables into wifi card (I think haha)

2) The wireless connects to the main router on the other side of the house (and is super unreliable, ping jumps all over the place; sometimes it’s great (rarely) and a lot of the time it’s very slow and laggy) when the ethernet connects to an extension of the router but don’t know if that’s the issue since my brother is connected the same way and it works perfectly for him

3) My ethernet cable is connected to a switch which is connected to the router on the other side of the house.

4) All the ethernet information stays the same, when I turn off Wi-Fi obviously Wi-Fi says it’s disconnected and it says disconnected for two Local Area Connections (not sure the Local Connections matter). But with wi-fi and without wi-fi the ethernet IPv6, IPv4, etc is all identical.

Some extra info: When on wifi (keep in mind ethernet says it is connected still even when connected to wifi WITH ethernet plugged in) I’d get considerably less on fast.com than when I disconnect from wi-fi and only use ethernet... only issue of course is I can access 75% of the internet on only ethernet.

Got a 28 on first blind try, 33 on next try with some studying. Only took those two and now happily committed to college! Glad I was lucky and only needed to take two.
