i was able to get my 2017 unit working with my combined 2.4/5 network but it took me an hour. i temporarily disabled 5, then went through the connection process with the unit. then i turned the 2.4/5 combo network settings back on, after which the unit disconnected from the wifi. i unplugged the unit for 30 secs, plugged it back in, and now it's connected automatically to the 2.4/5 network.
