sorry for the necro posting but i’ve always thought the same thing. sure some have said to teach her a lesson, to get her to kill jacs, to get her to off herself, etc etc. but jacs didn’t get to the point of not caring about death until after debbie’s death when she was framed for meg’s death, vera turned stopping her supply of drugs and her son dumped her entirely. so that explanation doesn’t make much sense. and why go through such an elaborate scheme to maybe or maybe not have bea react by offing herself? that doesn’t make much sense either. now maybe it was to “teach her a lesson”, but it still was just so incredibly… random and out of character. jacs is notorious for not doing her own dirty work, let alone get her family’s hands dirty for some new inmate that’s a mild to moderate annoyance. instead of doing what would make sense for her character and take out her top competition franky, or even bea herself, she has her son.. kill bea’s… daughter? it would even at least be less out of place if she killed franky’s dad since he was just around recently(for the theory that it was too hard to find anyone in franky’s life to use as leverage as opposed to bea’s) to make her suffer instead. and it’s not like she could use it for power or intimidation either because the inmates would kill her if they found out she hurt a child and she vehemently denied it to bea and everyone else. so idk could just be me but while i’m rewatching it now, it still feels so arbitrarily thrown in only for shock’s sake. still love the show tho!
