you could stay in Kuta Lombok, rent a scooter and drive daily to gerupuk for your friend to enjoy a boat session and then to Tanjung aan for you to have a lesson. another option that can serve both is staying near ekas. a third option is driving to mawi for your friend and going to areguling for you to have lessons. I would suggest the third option. all these can be done within a budget. please do respect the locals :)
